    Who is eligible for AIA Vitality?

    AIA Vitality is eligible for customers residing in Malaysia aged 16 and above provided that they are covered under an individual AIA life insurance or takaful plan or are covered by their AIA employee benefits with an AIA Vitality attachment.  

    However, being the policy owner of the plan does not automatically qualify an individual to apply for the AIA Vitality membership.

    Not yet an AIA life insurance or takaful plan customer? Speak to your AIA Life Planner about becoming a member of AIA Vitality. If you don't have an AIA Life Planner, you can contact us on 1300 88 1899 (for overseas customers call us at 603-2056 1111) or you can send us a request to find you a Life Planner by emailing us at customercare@aiavitality.com.my


    Can I pay the AIA Vitality membership fee on a different frequency and method from my life insurance premium or takaful contribution?

    Yes, your AIA Vitality membership fee and your policy premium(s) are separate transactions.

    • If you are joining AIA Vitality when purchasing a new AIA life insurance or takaful plan, the frequency and method of the first membership fee payment follows your life insurance or takaful plan. 
    • If you are an existing AIA life insurance or takaful plan customer that has joined via online purchase here, the first annual membership fee payment must be made via credit card
    • If your membership is a corporate membership, your company/association will pay your membership fee accordingly.

    Where do I use my AIA Vitality membership card?

    You need to present your AIA Vitality e-membership card at our partners' outlets to access your member discounts and savings. 


    Where can I find my AIA Vitality membership number?

    You can find your AIA Vitality membership number on the front of your AIA Vitality e-membership card.


    How do I renew/cancel my AIA Vitality membership?

    To renew your AIA Vitality membership, you simply need to ensure payment for your membership fee is made prior to the due date.

    If you do not wish to continue with your AIA Vitality membership, you may choose to stop paying your membership fee and your membership will expire accordingly.

    Please remember that the expiry of your AIA Vitality membership will mean losing access to all AIA Vitality rewards and benefits, including the AIA Vitality extra insurance benefits.

    NOTE:

    • If your membership fee is overdue by more than 45 days, your membership will automatically be terminated.

    If an overdue membership fee is paid within the 45 days, you will be able to maintain your existing AIA Vitality Points and Status. However, if payment is made more than 45 days from the due date, your AIA Vitality Status will revert to Bronze and AIA Vitality Points will reset to zero (0).


    What happens to my AIA Vitality membership when my AIA life insurance or takaful plan(s) have matured/terminated?

    Your AIA Vitality membership will remain valid as long as you are insured under another AIA life insurance or takaful plan. If you are not insured under any other such plan(s), your AIA Vitality membership will be terminated at the end of your AIA Vitality membership year.


    Can I transfer my AIA Vitality membership to another person?

    The AIA Vitality membership is non-transferable.


    Can I own more than one AIA Vitality membership?

    Each individual can only have one (1) AIA Vitality membership.


    Can I apply for an AIA Vitality membership for children who are under 16?

    The age requirement for AIA Vitality membership is 16 years and above.


    Can I buy AIA Vitality for my insured child?

    The age requirement for AIA Vitality membership is 16 years and above.


    Can I apply for an AIA Vitality membership as well if I purchase an AIA life insurance plan to insure my parents/spouse/child?

    The AIA Vitality programme is offered to the individual who is the life insured or person covered under an eligible AIA life insurance or takaful plan, or has enrolled via a corporate membership offered by his/her company or association. Being the policy owner of the plan does not qualify an individual to apply for the AIA Vitality membership.


    Will any of my health info in AIA Vitality programme be shared with the underwriting or claims functions of AIA Bhd. or AIA PUBLIC Takaful Bhd.?

    Any health or medical-related personal information you provide as part of your AIA Vitality membership WILL NOT be provided to the underwriting or claims departments of AIA Bhd. or AIA PUBLIC Takaful Bhd. and therefore will not be used in the making of any future underwriting or claims decisions.

    NOTE: In accordance with your duty of disclosure, in the event of any future application for insurance cover, changes to an existing insurance cover or claims for an insurance policy or takaful plan with AIA, you are still obliged to disclose any relevant health and medical-related personal information.

    How does the AIA Vitality Insurance Benefit work?

    As an AIA Vitality member, you are entitled to additional benefits on associated insurance or takaful plans.

    The value of the benefit may maintain, increase or decrease depending on your AIA Vitality Status at the end of every membership year.


    What are the insurance/takaful plans that are eligible for the extra insurance benefits?

    We have a variety of life insurance and takaful plans that suit your individual needs and are also entitled for the extra insurance benefits. Click here to view the full list of the eligible AIA Vitality insurance and takaful plans.


    How does my AIA Vitality Status affect my Insurance Benefit in subsequent years?

    The AIA Vitality Status is a measure of your effort to make healthier choices and will determine the level of selected rewards. Depending on the AIA Vitality Status you achieve at the end of each membership year, the level of your Insurance Benefit for the subsequent policy year may either maintain, increase or decrease.

    You are encouraged to achieve Gold or Platinum Status every year in order to maintain or increase your Insurance Benefit level. 


    Is it possible for me to lose my AIA Vitality Insurance Benefit?

    Yes, there are multiple reasons you could lose your AIA Vitality Insurance Benefit:

    • If you terminate your AIA Vitality membership
    • If you terminate your life insurance / takaful plan
    • If you reduce your basic sum assured to an amount below the minimum criteria
    • If you consistently stay at Bronze or Silver Status, the level of your Insurance Benefit may reduce to zero over time. Please refer to your policy document, endorsement or product brochure for more details on respective extra insurance benefits.

    Do I have to terminate my AIA Vitality associated insurance/takaful plan if I were to terminate my AIA Vitality membership?

    No, you can maintain your insurance/takaful plan(s) even if you are no longer an AIA Vitality member. However, the insurance plan(s) will no longer be entitled to all the additional AIA Vitality insurance benefits (ie. Cash Bonus, Health Rewards, Wealth Booster etc) after the termination of your AIA Vitality membership.

    How can I earn AIA Vitality Points?

    You can earn AIA Vitality Points by engaging in a number of activities focused on helping you understand the status of your health and how to improve it: 

    • Assessments – these are points earned from completing your Online Assessments, Health Checks, Advanced Screening, Vaccinations, Nutrition Consultation, Dental Assessment, and Fitness Assessment. 
    • Challenges – these are points earned from completing any of the broad-based challenges and recommended personalised challenges based on your health profile
    • Eat Well – these are points earned when you purchase fresh fruits and vegetables from our HealthyFood™ partner
    • Exercise – these are points earned from tracking your physical activities via compatible fitness devices/applications, gym visits to Fitness First (for members with the AIA Vitality Fitness First benefit), and participating in Organised Fitness Events.
    • Sleep Well – these are points earned for having at least 7 hours of sleep each night. 

    I exercise more than once a day. How will AIA Vitality Points be awarded?

    Only one physical activity will be awarded with AIA Vitality Points per day. The activity that earns the highest points will be captured.

    Please note that there is a limit of 15,000 points in each membership year for all physical activities, which includes: workout sessions at Fitness First, participation in official organised fitness events, and physical activities tracked with fitness tracking devices or apps.

    Your points will be reflected in your AIA Vitality Points Statement within 48 hours.


    I participated in a sports event recently. How do I claim AIA Vitality Points for this?

    Under ‘Claim Points’ select ‘Official Fitness Event (OFE)’, then fill up the details of your event such as your bib number, results and other relevant information If you are unable to find a specific fitness event, please email us at customercare@aiavitality.com.my. We may include the event subject to our assessment.


    I am already actively swimming/cycling/boxing/ doing weight lifting at my own gym. How do I get points for the workout activities that I’m already doing?

    AIA Vitality awards points when you track your physical activities using a fitness tracking device / mobile fitness application that is able to send your workout data (eg; steps, heart rate, speed, calories burned) to AIA Vitality. 


    How do I get AIA Vitality Points for Sleep?

    You will need to wear fitness tracker from either Fitbit, Garmin, Samsung or Apple (which has sleep tracking capabilities) to sleep. 

    AIA Vitality Points will be awarded for tracking sleep for one device per day. AIA Vitality will allocate points based on the device that tracked the longest sleep within a 24 hour period (from 12 noon to 12 noon the following day)

    Please note that there is a limit of 2,000 points in each membership year for sleep.

    Your points will be reflected in your AIA Vitality Points Statement within 48 hours.


    How do I check if my AIA Vitality Points are updated?

    You may refer to your Points Statement page to check your earned points. Please note that the time taken to update points varies for the different activities.

    If your AIA Vitality Points are not reflected on your statement after 14 days, please email us at customercare@aiavitality.com.my or call us at 1300 88 1899 (for overseas customers call us at 603-2056 1111).


    What happens if my AIA Vitality Points are not reflected accurately?

    If you notice your AIA Vitality Points are not accurately reflected, please email us at customercare@aiavitality.com.my or call us at 1300 88 1899 (for overseas customers call us at 603-2056 1111) within 45 days from the date of the activity.

    Please note that we may need you to provide us with further details or supporting documentation.


    Can I transfer AIA Vitality Points or benefits to my spouse?

    AIA Vitality Points and benefits are non-transferable.


    What is my AIA Vitality Status?

    As you take steps to improve your health, you will be awarded with AIA Vitality Points. Your points will add up to help you achieve what we call your AIA Vitality Status.

    At the beginning of every membership year, your status will start at Bronze. For every effort you make towards living a healthy lifestyle (eg; complete health checks/advance screenings, exercise, quit smoking etc.), you will earn AIA Vitality Points, and your AIA Vitality Status will gradually improve from Bronze, to Silver, then Gold and ultimately Platinum! The higher your status, the greater your rewards. 


    How long do I keep my AIA Vitality Status once I reach it?

    The AIA Vitality Status you achieve at the end of each membership year will be carried over to the next membership year, and your benefits and discounts will be based on this status.

    Your points in the new membership year will however reset to zero and you have to undertake activities to start earning points again. The reset will take place on an annual basis.

    For example: Jane achieves Gold status in her first year and can instantly enjoy the rewards and benefits as a Gold member. Jane’s Gold status will be carried over to the second year and she may continue to enjoy the rewards and benefits of a Gold member throughout the second year. Jane’s AIA Vitality Points however will be reset to zero in the beginning of the second year. In order to maintain her Gold membership through to the third year, Jane will need to continue with her healthy activities and accumulate enough AIA Vitality Points. If Jane fails to accumulate enough points, her AIA Vitality Status in the third year will be set according to the points she earned in the second year.


    I recently relocated to Malaysia from Singapore, how can I transfer my AIA Vitality Points that I have earned in Singapore to the AIA Vitality programme in Malaysia?

    The AIA Vitality programme is managed independently in each country, so any AIA Vitality Points earned in other countries are non-transferable.


    Can the AIA Vitality membership be used outside Malaysia?

    Your AIA Vitality membership is only applicable in Malaysia and not usable in other countries that also offer the programme.

    Can I earn points from the Online Assessments?

    How is my AIA Vitality Age calculated?

    Your AIA Vitality Age is a measure of how healthy you are relative to your real age. It is calculated using your responses to the AIA Vitality Health Review online assessment, as well as your results from the AIA Vitality Health Check, AIA Vitality Nutrition Assessment and AIA Vitality Fitness Assessment. Your AIA Vitality Age may be higher or lower than your actual age, depending on whether your lifestyle is having a positive or negative effect on your overall health.


    I entered my BMI when I was completing the About You assessment. Why do I not earn AIA Vitality Points for my healthy-range BMI?

    You will be awarded 1,000 AIA Vitality Points for completing the About You assessment but not for the self-reported values that you input during the assessment.

    • AIA Vitality Points for healthy-range BMI results are awarded based on verified health data by completing either one of these options:
    • AIA Vitality Health Check (available at BP Healthcare)
    • AIA Vitality Express Health Check (available at selected Guardian stores)
    • AIA Vitality Nutrition Consultation (available at BP Healthcare)
    • AIA Vitality Fitness Assessment (available at Fitness First)
    • Health checks completed at your preferred healthcare provider

    For health checks done at other healthcare providers, claim your AIA Vitality Points by submitting proof of your results on the My AIA mobile app.

    1. Go to MyAIA app and select Vitality
    2. Under Assessments, click to View Assessment under Check Your Health
    3. Click to Claim Points under AIA Vitality Health Check

    I am pregnant. How will my health results be affected?

    If you are pregnant, you can still complete the About You Assessment and AIA Vitality Health Check (VHC) to earn AIA Vitality Points. However, certain parts of the programme will not apply to you. For example, you will not receive a goal to reduce your weight while you are pregnant. Also, your AIA Vitality Age may not be accurate as the underlying calculations do not take pregnancy into account.


    What is the difference between the AIA Vitality Express Health Check and the AIA Vitality Health Check?
    • The AIA Vitality Express Health Check is a quick assessment that measures 3 components: BMI and waist circumference, Blood Pressure and Blood Glucose and takes under 20 minutes to complete. You can complete this at selected Guardian outlets at RM3.00 and earn up to 4,500 AIA Vitality Points each membership year. Book your appointment with Guardian to complete this.
    • On the other hand, you can opt for the AIA Vitality Health Check available at BP Healthcare at up to 50% off and awards you up to 6,000 AIA Vitality Points each membership year. It is a more comprehensive test and measures 4 components: BMI and waist circumference, Blood Pressure, Total Cholesterol, and Blood Glucose. Book your appointment with BP Healthcare to complete this.

    How do I earn points for the AIA Vitality Health Check?

    You will earn 750 AIA Vitality Points for completing each test and you can also earn an additional 750 points for each result which is within the recommended healthy range.

    Health checks completed at Guardian or BP Healthcare will be uploaded automatically. 

    For health checks done at other healthcare providers, claim your AIA Vitality Points by submitting proof of your results on the My AIA mobile app.

    1. Go to MyAIA app and select Vitality
    2. Under Assessments, click to View Assessment under Check Your Health
    3. Click to Claim Points under AIA Vitality Health Check

    There isn’t a health check partner outlet where I live. Where else can I go for the AIA Vitality Health Check?

    You can go to your preferred doctor to complete the following assessments: BMI, Blood Pressure, Fasting Blood Glucose and Total Cholesterol.

    For health checks done at other healthcare providers, claim your AIA Vitality Points by submitting proof of your results on the My AIA mobile app.

    2. Under Assessments, click to View Assessment under Check Your Health
    3. Click to Claim Points under AIA Vitality Health Check

    Where can I get my Nutrition Assessment report for my Nutrition Consultation with BP Healthcare’s dietitian?

    To get your Nutrition Assessment report, you will need to first complete the online Nutrition Assessment.

    Upon completing the online assessment, you can view your results in the Health Report at your Health Profile. The nutritionist at BP Healthcare will go through your results with you during your consultation.

    If I earn 400 points in the first week, can my extra points of 150 be counted towards my 2nd week’s target?

    No. Any points earned above the Weekly Target of 250 points will not be counted towards the following week.

    Points to achieve the Weekly Target must be earned within the week starting from Monday 00:00 to Sunday 23:59.


    Can I combine the weekly targets of 2 consecutive weeks and earn my reward with 500 points from my activities in one week?

    No, the Weekly Target of 250 points must be earned in 2 consecutive weeks.


    If I have already achieved my annual 15,000 AIA Vitality Points limit for physical activities, am I still entitled for Weekly Challenge Rewards?

    Yes, you can continue to earn your Weekly Challenge Rewards if you achieve your Weekly Target, 2 weeks in a row.

    How are my recommended challenges determined?

    Recommended challenges are based on your health risks, which are determined by your responses in the About You Assessment, Exercise Assessment and your results from your AIA Vitality Health Check (VHC).


    How many AIA Vitality Points can I earn in a year from my personal health challenges?

    The number of AIA Vitality Points each member can earn from their personal health goals is dependent on each individual’s risk profile. If you have a higher health risk, you may be able to earn more points from achieving your personal health challenges.


    Why are there fewer challenges recommended to me in comparison to other members?

    AIA Vitality recommended challenges are based on whether your measurements are considered to be at risk for your demographic group. The challenges that are recommended to you are based on your most significant risks. We may recommend more challenges if you are at risk in more than one area.


    I indicated that I wanted to improve my weight. Why was I not given a challenge to achieve this?

    The challenges recommended are based on whether your measurements are considered to be at risk for your demographic group. So, if your weight is considered to be a risk to your health, AIA Vitality will recommend a challenge for you to lose weight. Please refer to your doctor for guidance on your ideal weight, if you have any concerns.


    Can I create my own health challenge?

    No, as the challenges are assigned to you by the programme based on your health risk profile, which is derived from the answers to your AIA Vitality Health Review questions, and other verifiable sources.


    How are my challenges tracked?

    Challenges are tracked using verified results which you submit to us directly, or which our partners submit to us on your behalf and with your consent. Examples include the AIA Vitality Health Check results submitted via our health partners, BP Healthcare or Guardian, and workout data submitted through partner fitness devices.


    I have accepted the challenge to lose weight. How will this be verified?

    Weight results must be submitted through the AIA Vitality Health Check, AIA Vitality Fitness Assessment, or AIA Vitality Nutrition Assessment with a nutritionist/dietitian. Only weight measurements from a verified source will count toward completing a weight loss challenge.


    What happens after the challenge accepted expires and I have not achieved it? Would I be able to do the same challenge again?

    Unless there has been a change to your health profile since the challenge was initially recommended and accepted, you should be able to select the challenge again if you did not achieve it by the expiration date.

    I am having problems tracking my workout or sleep with my existing fitness device/fitness application. What should I do?

    We would recommend that you contact the fitness device or fitness application’s support service directly to acquire assistance.


    After linking my fitness device/app, my workout or sleep data is still not captured in my AIA Vitality account. What should I do?

    Please refer to the MyAIA Vitality page to check if your Fitness Device has synced to Vitality.

    1. Go to the MyAIA app and select Vitality
    2. Select 'DEVICE / APP' from Vitality home page
    3. Check if the 'last synced date' for your fitness device is up to date

    If the problem still persists (last synced date is not updated), please contact us at 1300 88 1899 (for overseas customers call us at 603-2056 1111 or email us at customercare@aiavitality.com.my.

    How do I use the Food Tracker?

    Just snap a photo of your food while using the Food Tracker, or select one from your own phone gallery


    Can I view my past food scores?

    Yes, you may view your food scores based on submission(s) within the past 30 days. These could be found from your Food Gallery.


    What does the Average monthly score bar refer to?

    The average score is calculated by averaging the total of your food scores within the past 30 days.


    I don’t think the food score or tips given to my food photo is correct. How can I report?

    Select the photo from Food Gallery, then tap on the option button below the photo to “Feedback on food score”.
