Important Checklist for Travelling Overseas
First Overseas Trip
Since Covid-19?
Go Through This Checklist First
The year-end holidays are right around the corner, and you’ve been counting the days to your first overseas trip since the pandemic! Read on for tips to keep your inaugural journey smooth sailing.
As travel restrictions ease throughout the world, many people are making plans to head overseas. However, it’s important to remember that travel isn’t quite what it used to be.
Thankfully, all you’ll need to ensure a smooth and stress-free travel experience is a little upfront planning and organisation.
To help you out, we’ve put together three key things to keep in mind while planning your travels.
Get your passport and visa in order
A lot can change in two years, and that includes travel requirements! Once you’ve decided on a destination, head to the country’s immigration portal to see whether you’ll need a visa, travel pass or any other documentation to enter.
Do this as early as you can – Many people are trying to travel right now, meaning there may be a waiting list for applications. And speaking of doing things early, check your passport validity too!
Check the entry policies at your destination
As we’re in the endemic phase, countries are constantly updating their COVID-19 policies. Depending on your vaccination or booster shot status, some countries will require a negative PCR test before you’re allowed in.
Ensure your vaccine certification is up-to-date
The MySejahtera app is backed by the Malaysian government and, as such, can be used worldwide as proof of vaccination. Just ensure your details are current and accurate.
You may need to send a digital copy of your vaccination certificate ahead of time, so check the requirements before you travel.
The plan to a great holiday
Holidaying overseas is an incredibly rewarding experience, especially when everything goes according to plan. So, plan ahead now to ensure peace of mind while you're there. Have a great trip!
