Mahani Binti Amat
Puan Mahani holds a Bachelor of Economics (majoring in Business Administration) from University of Malaya. She has over 27 years of working experience in the banking industry. She began her career with Bank Negara Malaysia in 1977 where she spent 7 years in Reserves Management. In 1984, she moved on to RHB Bank in Singapore and held various positions in the Treasury and Offshore Banking, and Consumer Banking. She returned to RHB Bank Kuala Lumpur in 2001, where she held senior management positions in premium banking and international division, up to her last designation in 2004 as Executive Vice President of operations and services.
Datuk Husni Zai Yaacob

Datuk Husni holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) Resource Economics from University Putra Malaysia. Datuk Husni had served at Malaysian missions in the Philippines, Pakistan and United Kingdom and was an Ambassador of Malaysia to Kuwait and Ambassador of Malaysia to Thailand. Datuk Husni was appointed as the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Singapore on 23 August 2013 before his retirement from government service in 2016. Datuk Husni has over 34 years of experience and expertise in managing international relations as a diplomat and Senior Management team of the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Dato’ Chang Kat Kiam

Dato’ Chang was appointed to the Board of AIA PUBLIC Takaful Bhd. since the Company’s inception on 11 March 2011. Dato’ Chang holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Hull, United Kingdom. He is also a Chartered Banker of the Chartered Banker Institute (CBI), United Kingdom. Dato’ Chang has over 45 years of experience in the banking and finance industry. Dato’ Chang is currently the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Public Bank Berhad.
Datin Dr. Rusnah Muhamad

Datin Dr. Rusnah holds a Ph.D in Accounting from University of Malaya. She obtained her first degree in Accounting from the same university and obtained her Master of Science in Accounting and Finance from University of Stirling, Scotland. She also holds an Executive Diploma in Syariah from University Malaya Centre of Continuing Education and was accorded the Best Student Award. She was until October 2022 an Associate Professor of the Faculty of Business and Accountancy at University Malaya.
Chong Kin Leong

Mr Chong graduated in Accounting from the University of Malaya in 1981 and is a Member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. Mr Chong has more than 40 years of experience in all aspects of financial and business management in the corporate sector, financial institutions and auditing. His last executive position prior to retirement was Chief Financial Officer of Genting Berhad, where he worked for 16 years.
Dato' Seri Mohamed Hassan Kamil

Dato’ Seri Mohamed Hassan Kamil was the Group CEO of Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Keluarga Bhd and had retired from the Group on 31 December 2021. At the helm of Takaful Malaysia since 2007, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Hassan Kamil has propelled the company to become one of the top Takaful operators in Malaysia and has steered the Group to a higher level with proven and sustainable financial performance. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science and Master in Business Administration from the University of Iowa, USA. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, USA and a Chartered Life Underwriter.
Ben Ng

Mr. Ng is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society in the United States. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with highest distinctions from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, United States. Mr. Ng has more than 26 years of experience in the insurance industry. He joined AIA in 2011 and was appointed as CEO of AIA Bhd. on 15 August 2019. Prior to his current appointment, he was the President Director and CEO of AIA Indonesia since June 2014. Mr. Ng also served as CEO of AIA Group’s Corporate Solutions business and Regional Business Development Director and Interim CEO for AIA Taiwan. Mr. Ng has held an extensive range of leadership roles across both business and finance functions including Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Marketing Officer.
Ir. Dr. Muhamad Fuad Abdullah

Ir. Dr. Muhamad Fuad Abdullah has dual academic qualifications in engineering as well as in Islamic studies. He obtained his Bachelor and Master of Philosophy Degrees in Electrical Engineering from Southampton University, England in 1977 and 1982, respectively. He then completed his Bachelor of Arts (Shariah) Degree at Jordan University in 1994. His highest academic qualification is PhD. in Muslim Civilisation awarded in 1996 by Aberdeen University in Scotland.
Dr. Muhamad Fuad plays an active role in the academic world. He had served as an adjunct professor/lecturer at several local universities including Universiti Teknologi Petronas, Universiti Pertanian Malaysia and Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka; as an Industry Advisory Panel of Electrical Engineering Programmes at Universiti Teknologi Mara, Multimedia University and Universiti Tenaga Nasional; and had served from 2007 to 2010 as a member of the Board of Studies of the International Islamic University Malaysia Bachelor Program in Fiqh & Usul Fiqh. He was the Chief Executive of The Netherlands Maritime Institute of Technology in Johor Bahru in 2019. Presently, he is a member of the Board of Directors of Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia and Universiti Tun Abd Razak Sdn Bhd.
Dr. Muhamad Fuad has held a number of board directorships including those of Institut Kefahaman Islam Malaysia, MIDF Berhad, MIDF Property Berhad, Sime Darby Berhad, Sime Darby Property Berhad and Island & Peninsular Bhd. He is currently the Chairman of Gagasan Nadi Cergas Bhd and a board member of PNB Commercial Sdn Bhd.
Dr. Muhamad Fuad is currently the Chairman of the Shariah Supervisory Council of Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad and the Chairman of the Shariah Advisory Committee of BIMB Securities Sdn Bhd. He had served as the Chairman of the Shariah Committees of MIDF Bhd and MNRB Retakaful Sdn Bhd and was a member of the Shariah Committee of MNRB Holdings Berhad.
YM Engku Ahmad Fadzil Engku Ali

YM Engku Ahmad Fadzil YM Engku Ali obtained his bachelor’s degree in Law followed by a second degree in Law (Shariah) from the International Islamic University Malaysia in 1993 and 1994 respectively. He then completed his Masters in Islamic Judiciary from Jordan University in 2000.
He was admitted as an advocate and solicitor at High Court of Malaya in 1995. He was also a lecturer at International Islamic University Malaysia from 1994 until 2014 where he taught Law of Successions, Islamic Jurisprudence and Islamic Criminal Laws. Previously, YM Engku Ahmad Fadzil YM Engku Ali was a member of the fatwa research panel of Jabatan Mufti Kerajaan Negeri Sembilan and a Senior Fellow at the Institut Kajian Strategik Islam Malaysia.
YM Engku Ahmad Fadzil YM Engku Ali is also currently qualified to deliver Islamic teachings in Negeri Sembilan, Sarawak, Selangor, Penang and Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur.
Previously, YM Engku Ahmad Fadzil YM Engku Ali served Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad as its Shariah Committee Member. YM Engku Ahmad Fadzil YM Engku Ali is currently a Shariah Committee member for Bank Pertanian Malaysia Berhad (Agrobank) and Public Islamic Bank Berhad. He is also a director at Tijarah Hati Murni Sdn Bhd.
Khairil Anuar Mohd Noor

Encik Khairil Anuar obtained his Diploma in Business Studies from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) in 1983. He then obtained his Bachelor of Science (Business Administration) and his Master in Business Administration from St. Louis University, Missouri, USA in 1986 and 1987 respectively.
Encik Khairil Anuar had served in numerous positions across numbers of departments and divisions in HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad where his last position in HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad was the Manager, Islamic Banking Division. Subsequently, he served as Head, Islamic Banking Division in Bank Simpanan Nasional, Malaysia before pursuing his career in Middle East.
During his tenure in Middle East, he had been entrusted to hold several senior key positions namely Vice President, Head of Marketing in Emirates Islamic Bank, Dubai, Head of Retail Business in Badr Al-Islamic, Dubai and Senior Vice President, Head of Structuring, Product and Business Performance, Wholesale Banking Group Al Hilal Bank in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Among his expertise are product development for asset, liability, trade and cash management and complex Islamic finance transactions structuring including sukuk and syndications. Additionally, Encik Khairil Anuar possesses an abundance of experience in strategic planning and marketing which entitles him to a vast knowledge and exposure towards subject matters related to Islamic finance industry.
Encik Khairil Anuar is currently the Principal and Co-Founder of Masryef Management House, a boutique Islamic Finance Consulting Firm (the Firm) since 2019, providing services and consultation in relation to advisory, governance, product development, review and audit.
Shabnam Mohamad Mokhtar

Shabnam Mohamad Mokhtar obtained her bachelor’s degree in Accountancy from Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2001. She then achieved her Master of Science in Accounting from University of Illinois in 2003. She has also earned several postgraduate certificates from Middlesex University, London in Mechanics of Fintech and A.I, Mechanics of Project Finance, and Mechanics of International Trade Finance. She secured her Certified Shariah Adviser & Auditor (CSAA) qualification from Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) in 2018.
Puan Shabnam served in International Shariah Research Academy (ISRA) where she spearheaded research for the Islamic capital market unit. Prior to that, she was a lecturer in Universiti Putra Malaysia where she taught Bank Management, Financial Management and Islamic Financial Management to name a few.
Currently, she serves as the Managing Director of SHAPE® Knowledge Services (M) Sdn Bhd. She has been with the SHAPE Group since 2010. Besides developing novel Islamic Finance products in different markets, Shabnam manages strategic and business plan formulation for clients launching Islamic operations. She also structures and delivers customised trainings for clients covering full spectrum of Islamic Finance activities. With a global clientele experience, Shabnam brings implementation knowledge taking into account the business context, regulation and Shariah views in different markets.
Shabnam was appointed as the Securities Commission – Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies Islamic Finance Visiting Fellow for 2021/2022. She is interested in multi-disciplinary research especially in the area of impact investing, sustainability, innovation and technology. At Oxford, she focused on Blue Economy, Impact Investing and lessons for Islamic Finance.
Puan Shabnam Mohamad Mokhtar is currently a Shariah Committee member of RHB Islamic Bank Berhad. Previously, she served as a Syariah Advisory Panel of Malaysian Rating Corporation from 2010 to 2014.
Professor Dr. Muhamad Rahimi Osman

Professor Dr. Muhamad Rahimi Osman obtained his bachelor’s degree in Shariah from University of Malaya in 1987. He then completed his Master of Islamic Economics from University of Yarmouk, Jordan in 1996. His highest academic qualification is Ph.D in Islamic Banking awarded by International Islamic University Malaysia in 2008.
Professor Dr. Muhamad Rahimi Osman started his career as a lecturer in Centre for Islamic Education, Institut Teknologi MARA in 1988. Currently, he is a Professor at the Academy of Contemporary Islamic Studies (ACIS), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). His teaching experience are on subjects like Islamic Law of Transactions, Islamic Financial Legal Framework, Islamic Banking and Securities Law and Islamic Financial Regulatory and Governance. In addition to the teaching, he was appointed to several administration posts such as Deputy Director, Centre for Islamic Thought and Understanding (CITU), Director of the Zakat Research Institute of Malaysia (IKaZ), Deputy Dean and Dean of the Academy of Contemporary Islamic Studies (ACIS), UiTM. He also served as a member of the Curriculum Review Committee for Muamalat, Takaful, Islamic Banking and Finance of the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, member of the Senate University and Chairman of the Dean Council of Islamic Studies, Higher Learning Institutions of Malaysia.
Professor Dr. Muhamad Rahimi Osman has written books and presented papers at national and international seminars. His articles have also been published in local and international journals. Additionally, he conducted several research and obtained grants from various organisations such as Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS). Other than that, he also supervises Masters and Ph.D students.
Professor Dr. Muhamad Rahimi Osman is currently the Shariah Advisor of Philip Capital Sdn Bhd and a Shariah Committee member at Alliance Islamic Bank. He was previously the Chairman of Shariah Committee at Co-opbank Pertama and Chairman of Shariah Committee at Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Berhad. He had also served as Shariah Committee member in various financial institutions namely Hong Leong Tokio Marine Takaful, Hong Leong Islamic Bank and Alliance Investment Bank Berhad.
