Tan Sri Dato’ (Dr) Wee Hoe Soon @ Gooi Hoe Soon
Tan Sri Dato’ (Dr) Gooi has over 38 years of experience in the fields of accounting and corporate finance. Tan Sri Dato’ (Dr) Gooi was instrumental in the successful implementation of several corporate exercises which included merger and acquisition and corporate debt restructuring exercises by PLCs. Tan Sri Dato’ (Dr) Gooi currently sits on the Board of Securities Commission, Yinson Holdings Bhd, Red Ideas Holdings Berhad and Perusahaan Sadur Timah Malaysia Berhad. Tan Sri Dato’ (Dr) Gooi was also a member of the National Debt and Liability Management Committee and was a member of the investment panel of EPF Malaysia. Tan Sri Dato’ (Dr) Gooi was former Chairman of the Board of EON Bank Bhd from 2009 to 2012, Chairman of Amity Bond Sdn Bhd, and Deputy Chairman of Avenue Capital Resources Bhd. Tan Sri Dato’ (Dr) Gooi was also the CEO/Executive Director-Dealing of Avenue Securities Sdn Bhd. Tan Sri Dato’ (Dr) Gooi is a Member of the Malaysian Association of Certified Public Accountants and Malaysian Institute of Accountants.
Dr. Chong Su-Lin

Dr. Chong is a graduate from the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine, London. She began her career in the National Health Services, UK, following which she took an MBA at the London Business School. This was followed by two years with Cambridge Pharma Consultancy, specialising in the field of pharmaco-economics. She has also served as Chief Executive Officer of Sunway Medical Centre Berhad and Prince Court Medical Centre Sdn. Bhd.
Ching Neng Shyan
Independent Non-Executive Director
Mr. Ching is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales as well as a Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Universiti Sains Malaysia and was the Managing Director of Kennedy, Burkill & Company Berhad from 2008 until 2018. Mr. Ching had worked with Pannell Kerr Forster, Chartered Accountants in Liverpool, England and Ernst & Young in Malaysia.
Mahani Binti Amat
Independent Non-Executive Director
Puan Mahani holds a Bachelor of Economics (majoring in Business Administration) from University of Malaya. She has over 27 years of working experience in the banking industry. She began her career with Bank Negara Malaysia in 1977 where she spent 7 years in Reserves Management. In 1984, she moved on to RHB Bank in Singapore and held various positions in the Treasury and Offshore Banking, and Consumer Banking. She returned to RHB Bank Kuala Lumpur in 2001, where she held senior management positions in premium banking and international division, up to her last designation in 2004 as Executive Vice President of operations and services.
Tan Hak Leh
Executive Director
Mr. Tan is the Regional Chief Executive responsible for AIA Group's business operating in Singapore, Brunei, Malaysia, Cambodia, Myanmar and Indonesia. Mr. Tan was Chief Executive Officer of AIA's operation in Thailand from 2016 to 2019, AIA Group Chief Risk Officer in 2015 and Chief Executive Officer of AIA's operation in Singapore from 2011 to 2015. Prior to joining AIA Group, Mr. Tan was Chief Executive Officer of Great Eastern Life, Singapore. Prior to joining Great Eastern Life, Mr. Tan was Director of the Insurance Department of the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Mr. Tan has played an active role in the life insurance industry since 2005. His appointments include: President of the Life Insurance Association (LIA), Singapore from 2010 to 2013 and Vice Chair of Singapore College of Insurance from 2011 to 2013 and Vice President of Thailand Life Assurance Association from 2017 to 2018. He was also a board member of the Financial Industry Disputes Resolution Centre Ltd from 2008 to 2015.
Ben Ng

Ben is responsible for further strengthening AIA’s position in the life insurance industry and helping the company optimise its growth in Malaysia.
Ben leads the ongoing development of the company’s insurance and takaful businesses in the country – elevating the professionalism of its agency force, enhancing its bancassurance partnerships, expanding its market-leading corporate solutions business, as well as improving AIA’s customer engagement and experience.
In addition to its three main business lines – Agency, Partnership Distribution and Corporate Solutions, Ben also oversees AIA’s General Insurance, Family Takaful, Pension and Asset Management, as well as its Health Services units.
Leong Chee Soong
Chief Agency Distribution Officer
Leong has the overall responsibility of driving AIA’s Premier Agency strategy in Malaysia with a clear focus on the recruitment of full-time Life Planners to drive AIA’s ambition of creating the largest and most productive sales force in the country. Leong also oversees AIA Malaysia's general insurance arm - AIA General Berhad which offers comprehensive personal accident, property and motor insurance that are also distributed through AIA Life Planners alongside bank partners, nationwide branches and directly online.
Gary Goh
Chief Technology & Operations Officer
Gary leads the implementation of the company's Technology, Digital and Analytics (TDA) strategy as well as oversees the customer service platforms and life operations that serve AIA Malaysia’s 5 million customers. He plays a key role in formulating AIA’s digital transformation goals to deliver business value with speed and quality, whilst achieving industry-leading operational efficiency by ensuring a seamless experience for AIA customers with best-in-class engagement across their Buy, Service and Claim journeys.
Penelope Gan
Chief Human Resources Officer
Penelope is responsible for the development and implementation of AIA Malaysia’s overall human capital strategies, ensuring that it continues to have a strong talent pipeline along with required critical capabilities across the organisation to support current and future business growth.
She is also tasked with ensuring that AIA’s high-performing culture and values as a purpose-led organisation are embedded and continue to resonate with AIA’s over 2,400-strong workforce.
Chee Foong Wai
Chief Marketing Officer
Foong Wai has the overall responsibility for developing and driving integrated marketing strategies and initiatives that bring to life AIA’s purpose of helping people live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives. She oversees five main functions under the Marketing division which comprise Product Marketing & Customer Propositions, Customer Marketing & Agency Activation, Customer Insights, Engagement & Digital Experience, Digital Platform Partnerships as well as Brand & Corporate Communications.
Heng Zee Wang
Chief Healthcare Officer
Zee Wang is responsible for the development and implementation of AIA’s Integrated Healthcare Strategy which aims to provide accessible, affordable, and effective healthcare to customers. He leads the management of sustainable medical and health business as well as integration with partner providers, development of advance healthcare administration as well as management, powered by health tech, digital and analytics.
Datin Veronica Selvanayagy

Datin Veronica oversees the Legal, Company Secretarial, Investigation, Corporate Governance, Corporate Security and Occupational Safety functions for all AIA entities in Malaysia including the three licensed insurance and takaful entities: AIA Bhd., AIA PUBLIC Takaful Bhd., AIA General Berhad in addition to other AIA entities which consist of AIA Health Services Sdn. Bhd., AIA Pension and Asset Management Sdn. Bhd. as well as AIA Shared Services Sdn. Bhd.
Elmie Aman Najas
Chief Executive Officer, AIA PUBLIC Takaful Bhd.
Elmie is responsible for overseeing AIA PUBLIC Takaful Bhd. as the product innovator of Family Takaful solutions which are distributed by AIA Bhd.’s extensive distribution network.
He has the role of maximising business synergy in AIA Malaysia to develop and propel the Takaful business to a leadership position in Malaysia.
Richard Lin
Chief Investment Officer
Richard is responsible for developing AIA’s asset allocation strategies, implementing investment policies and processes as well as ensuring a robust risk management framework for its assets under management in Malaysia. In addition to the Investment function, he also has oversight over Mortgage Operations and Real Estate Investment including AIA Malaysia's private retirement scheme arm - AIA Pension and Asset Management Sdn. Bhd.
