Longer wait times for real emergency cases
Burnout among emergency staff
Higher healthcare cost for the public
Real Emergencies are sudden, severe and life threatening!
AIRWAY
Chocking, difficulty in swallowing / drooling of saliva, noisy breathing,
foreign body sensation in the throat.
BREATHING
Extremely short of breath, unable to speak 1-2 word per breath,
blue tinge around lips.
CIRCULATION
Sudden left-sided or central chest pain, sudden numbness
or weakness.
DISABILITY
Altered mental status including collapse / fainting, difficulty of
sounding out words, injury with significant blood loss.
