Independent Non-Executive Director
Mahani holds a Bachelor of Economics (majoring in Business Administration) from University of Malaya. She has over 27 years of working experience in the banking industry. She began her career with Bank Negara Malaysia in 1977 where she spent 7 years in Reserves Management. In 1984, she moved on to RHB Bank in Singapore and held various positions in the Treasury and Offshore Banking, and Consumer Banking. She returned to RHB Bank Kuala Lumpur in 2001, where she held senior management positions in premium banking and international division, up to her last designation in 2004 as Executive Vice President of operations and services. Currently, she also serves as an Independent Director on three public listed companies on the Main Market of Bursa Securities, namely Unisem (M) Bhd, Scicom (MSC) Bhd and Leong Hup International Berhad. She is also an Independent Director of J.P. Morgan Chase Bank Berhad.

Dato' Mohammed Najeeb holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration (Accounting and Finance) from Charles Darwin University, Australia and also graduated from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK). He started his career in banking for over 27 years and has more than 35 years of experience in both conventional and Islamic banking. He was appointed the General Manager of Public Islamic Bank in November 2008. He relinquished his position in Public Islamic Bank when he was made a Senator of the Parliament of Malaysia in April 2010 for a 3-year term. He is an Independent Non-Executive Director of Public Islamic Bank Bhd, Cambodian Public Bank Plc, Campu Lonpac Insurance Plc, PB Trustee Services Bhd and AIA PUBLIC Takaful Bhd.

Datuk Husni holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) Resource Economics from University Putra Malaysia. Datuk Husni had served at Malaysian missions in the Philippines, Pakistan and United Kingdom and was an Ambassador of Malaysia to Kuwait and Ambassador of Malaysia to Thailand. Datuk Husni was appointed as the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Singapore on 23 August 2013 before his retirement from government service in 2016. Datuk Husni has over 34 years of experience and expertise in managing international relations as a diplomat and Senior Management team of the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Dato' Chang holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from University of Hull, United Kingdom. Dato’ Chang has 42 years of experience in the banking and finance industry. Dato’ Chang is currently the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Public Bank Berhad. He sits on the Board of several companies under the Public Bank Group, including Public Bank (Hong Kong), Public Bank Vietnam, Cambodian Public Bank and Campu Lonpac Insurance in Cambodia.

Associate Prof. Datin Dr. Rusnah holds a Ph.D in Accounting from University of Malaya. She obtained her first degree in Accounting from the same university and obtained her Master of Science in Accounting and Finance from University of Stirling, Scotland. She also holds an Executive Diploma in Syariah from University Malaya Centre of Continuing Education and was accorded the Best Student Award. She is currently an Associate Professor of the Faculty of Business and Accountancy at University Malaya and the Chairperson of the Ministry of Higher Education’s UM-INCEIF Islamic Finance Research Program. She also serves as both Director and Shariah Committee Member of AIA PUBLIC Takaful Bhd. and Public Islamic Bank Berhad.
Executive Director
Mr. Ng is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society in the United States. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with highest distinctions from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, United States. Mr. Ng has more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry. He joined AIA in 2011 and was appointed as CEO of AIA Bhd. on 15 August 2019. Prior to his current appointment, he was the President Director and CEO of AIA Indonesia since June 2014. Mr. Ng also served as CEO of AIA Group’s Corporate Solutions business and Regional Business Development Director and Interim CEO for AIA Taiwan. Mr. Ng has held an extensive range of leadership roles across both business and finance functions including Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Marketing Officer.
Emeritus Prof. Dato’ Paduka Dr. Mahmood Zuhdi Haji Ab. Majid (Chairman) is currently an Emeritus Professor at the Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya.
He received his first Degree in Shariah from Yayasan Pengajian Tinggi Islam Kelantan and successfully completed his master’s degree in Shariah from Al-Azhar University. He then obtained his Diploma in Education from ‘Ain Syams University, Cairo and Master in Philosophy from University of Kent, England. He holds a Doctorate of Philosophy from University of Malaya.
He holds the post of consultant of foreign affairs for Madinah International University and a Research fellow at International Shariah Research Academy for Islamic Finance (ISRA). He has published various books and written numerous articles, journals and research papers on Islamic Criminal Law, History of Islamic Law and Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence.
He is also a Shariah Committee member for Public Islamic Bank Berhad.
Associate Prof. Datin Dr. Rusnah Muhamad is currently an Associate Professor in Faculty of Business and Accountancy, University of Malaya (UM). She obtained her first degree in Accounting from UM and obtained her Master of Science in Accounting and Finance from University of Stirling, Scotland. She then received her Ph.D in Accounting from UM. She had recently completed her Executive Diploma in Syariah at Universiti Malaya Centre of Continuing Education and received the Best Student Award.
She is a registered member of CPA Australia and becomes a Campus Liaison Officer of CPA Australia. She is appointed as a Chief Editor for Journal Accounting Perspective published by Department of Financial Accounting and Auditing), UM.
She has been actively producing various research papers in Financial Accounting, Islamic Accounting and Religiosity and Ethics. Her academic paper titled “Religiosity and Work Stress Coping Behaviour Among Muslim Employees” won the Best Paper Award at the International Conference on Management from Islamic Perspective in 2007.
She is also a Shariah Committee member for Public Islamic Bank Berhad.
Dr. Ab Mumin Ab Ghani obtained his Diploma in Education, Bachelor of Economics (Hons.) and Master of Business Administration from the National University of Malaysia in 1979 and 1987 respectively. He then received his Ph.D in Islamic Studies from University of Malaya in 1998.
Dr. Ab Mumin Ab Ghani served as Associate Professor at Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya from 1989 until 2016 where he published a number of research works related to Islamic finance. During this period, Dr. Ab Mumin Ab Ghani was entrusted with several senior roles at the Academy of Islamic Studies as well as University of Malaya.
His other notable contributions in the field of Islamic finance at national level includes, his roles as member of working committee at Economic Planning Unit of Prime Minister’s Department, Deputy Chairman of Committee for Formulating Program Standards for Muamalat and Islamic Finance at Ministry of Higher Education, member of Research Committee on Direction of Muamalat and Islamic Finance in Malaysia.
Dr. Ab Mumin Ab Ghani served as the Chairman of Shariah Committee for Hong Leong Islamic Bank Berhad from 2004 until 2020 and Hong Leong MSIG Takaful Berhad from 2006 until 2020. Dr. Ab Mumin Ab Ghani was also a Shariah Committee Member of Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia Berhad from 2004 until 2006. He currently sits as a panel member of Penapisan Buku Agama at Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia and a Shariah Committee member for Public Islamic Bank Berhad.
Ir. Dr. Muhamad Fuad Abdullah has dual academic qualifications in engineering as well as in Islamic studies. He obtained his Bachelor and Master of Philosophy Degrees in Electrical Engineering from Southampton University, England in 1977 and 1982, respectively. He then completed his Bachelor of Arts (Shariah) Degree at Jordan University in 1994. His highest academic qualification is PhD. in Muslim Civilisation awarded in 1996 by Aberdeen University in Scotland.
Dr. Muhamad Fuad plays an active role in the academic world. He had served as an adjunct professor/lecturer at several local universities including Universiti Teknologi Petronas, Universiti Pertanian Malaysia and Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka; as an Industry Advisory Panel of Electrical Engineering Programmes at Universiti Teknologi Mara, Multimedia University and Universiti Tenaga Nasional; and had served from 2007 to 2010 as a member of the Board of Studies of the International Islamic University Malaysia Bachelor Program in Fiqh & Usul Fiqh. He was the Chief Executive of The Netherlands Maritime Institute of Technology in Johor Bahru in 2019. Presently, he is a member of the Board of Directors of Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia and Universiti Tun Abd Razak Sdn Bhd.
Dr. Muhamad Fuad has held a number of board directorships including those of Institut Kefahaman Islam Malaysia, MIDF Berhad, MIDF Property Berhad, Sime Darby Berhad, Sime Darby Property Berhad and Island & Peninsular Bhd. He is currently the Chairman of Gagasan Nadi Cergas Bhd and a board member of PNB Commercial Sdn Bhd.
Dr. Muhamad Fuad is currently a member of the Shariah Committee of Public Islamic Bank Bhd and a member of the Shariah Advisory Committee of BIMB Securities Sdn Bhd. He had served as the Chairman of the Shariah Committees of MIDF Bhd and MNRB Retakaful Sdn Bhd and was a member of the Shariah Committee of MNRB Holdings Berhad.
YM Engku Ahmad Fadzil YM Engku Ali obtained his bachelor’s degree in Law followed by a second degree in Law (Shariah) from the International Islamic University Malaysia in 1993 and 1994 respectively. He then completed his Masters in Islamic Judiciary from Jordan University in 2000.
He was admitted as an advocate and solicitor at High Court of Malaya in 1995. He was also a lecturer at International Islamic University Malaysia from 1994 until 2014 where he taught Law of Successions, Islamic Jurisprudence and Islamic Criminal Laws. Previously, YM Engku Ahmad Fadzil YM Engku Ali was a member of the fatwa research panel of Jabatan Mufti Kerajaan Negeri Sembilan and a Senior Fellow at the Institut Kajian Strategik Islam Malaysia.
YM Engku Ahmad Fadzil YM Engku Ali is also currently qualified to deliver Islamic teachings in Negeri Sembilan, Sarawak, Selangor, Penang and Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur.
Previously, YM Engku Ahmad Fadzil YM Engku Ali served Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad as its Shariah Committee Member. YM Engku Ahmad Fadzil YM Engku Ali is currently a Shariah Committee member for Bank Pertanian Malaysia Berhad (Agrobank) and Public Islamic Bank Berhad. He is also the Chief Operation Officer at Tijarah Hati Murni Sdn Bhd.
Encik Khairil Anuar obtained his Diploma in Business Studies from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) in 1983. He then obtained his Bachelor of Science (Business Administration) and his Master in Business Administration from St. Louis University, Missouri, USA in 1986 and 1987 respectively.
Encik Khairil Anuar had served in numerous positions across numbers of departments and divisions in HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad where his last position in HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad was the Manager, Islamic Banking Division. Subsequently, he served as Head, Islamic Banking Division in Bank Simpanan Nasional, Malaysia before pursuing his career in Middle East.
During his tenure in Middle East, he had been entrusted to hold several senior key positions namely Vice President, Head of Marketing in Emirates Islamic Bank, Dubai, Head of Retail Business in Badr Al-Islamic, Dubai and Senior Vice President, Head of Structuring, Product and Business Performance, Wholesale Banking Group Al Hilal Bank in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Among his expertise are product development for asset, liability, trade and cash management and complex Islamic finance transactions structuring including sukuk and syndications. Additionally, Encik Khairil Anuar possesses an abundance of experience in strategic planning and marketing which entitles him to a vast knowledge and exposure towards subject matters related to Islamic finance industry.
Encik Khairil Anuar is currently the Principal and Co-Founder of Masryef Management House, a boutique Islamic Finance Consulting Firm (the Firm) since 2019, providing services and consultation in relation to advisory, governance, product development, review and audit.
Chief Executive Officer
Elmie was appointed to lead AIA’s Family Takaful business in 2015. His key responsibility is to develop the Family Takaful business, drive product innovation and increase the Takaful penetration rate in the Bumi segment by leveraging on AIA and Public Bank Berhad’s leadership positions and established infrastructure and distribution networks.
Appointed Actuary
Swee Chin leads the Actuarial team that is responsible for the Company’s financial resiliency, to ensure that there are adequate financial safeguards in place to manage key emerging risks to the financial condition and capital adequacy of the Company.
Head of Finance
Yuet Ping leads the Finance team that is responsible for treasury and reconciliations, finance and general ledger operations, financial reporting, as well as financial control and investment.
Associate Director, Business Governance
Reena Sari leads the Business Governance team that is responsible for driving sustainable business growth through successful distribution channel management while strengthening the Company cost and operational efficiencies through effective operations and Information Technology (IT) management.
Associate Director, Product Marketing
Adli leads the Product Marketing team in developing the right solutions for AIA Family Takaful business. He is responsible for end-to-end product development; from the strategising and developing stage up to the marketing of the product via various distribution channels.
Associate Director, Shariah, Legal & Secretarial
Daim leads the Shariah, legal & secretarial functions in the Company. He coordinates interaction between key stakeholders and also acts as the liaison officer with authorities and associations on regulatory matters.
Associate Director, Compliance
Norlia leads the Compliance team that is responsible for ensuring that controls to manage compliance risk are adequate and operating as intended. She is also responsible for assessing and monitoring of compliance risk faced by the Company.
