    1. What is AIA One Plan?

    AIA One Plan is a term life plan which covers death and total and permanent disability for one (1) year. 

    This plan is commission-free and no intermediaries are involved in the sales or marketing of AIA One Plan.


    2. Who can buy this plan?

    This plan is available to individuals aged 16 to 55.


    3. How much coverage should I get?

    The amount of coverage you need depends on your affordability, current financial obligations and the future financial needs of your family. You can calculate your estimated protection needs here.


    4. What are the benefits of AIA One Plan?
    Benefit Coverage Amount*
    Death or Total and Permanent Disability RM 50,000
    RM 100,000
    RM 150,000
    RM 200,000
    RM 300,000
    RM 400,000
    RM 500,000

    * Subject to a maximum of RM500,000 per life.


    5. What happens if I pass away during the policy’s term?

    If you pass away during the policy’s term, your loved ones will receive 100% of the coverage amount.


    6. What happens if I suffer from Total and Permanent Disability during the term of this plan?

    You will receive 100% of the coverage amount if you suffer from Total and Permanent Disability during the coverage period. 


    7. Does this plan pay death or Total and Permanent Disability claims in addition to other insurance plans that I have with AIA?

    Yes, death or Total and Permanent Disability claims of this plan is payable in addition to any other insurance plans cover death and Total and Permanent Disability that you have with AIA.


    8. When does my coverage begin?

    Your coverage begins immediately after premium payment is confirmed.


    9. How can I pay for this plan?

    You can pay the annual premium for this plan with your credit card or through online banking payment.


    10. Is the premium for AIA One Plan guaranteed?

    The premium for this plan is guaranteed throughout the one (1) year term.


    11. For how long do I have to pay the premiums?

    You only have to pay the premium for one (1) year.


    12. How long is the coverage term?

    The coverage term is for one (1) year only.


    13. Can I buy more than one AIA One Plan policy?

    Yes, you may buy more than one (1) AIA One Plan but the total coverage of all the policies purchased cannot exceed RM500,000.


    14. Is renewal allowed after the one (1) year coverage term at the policy’s expiry date?

    No. After the expiry date, you need to purchase a new AIA One Plan if you wish to continue to be covered under AIA One Plan.


    15. Can I change the coverage amount of my AIA One Plan policy?

    Once your coverage begins, you cannot change it during the term of your policy. 


    16. Can I cancel or surrender my policy?

    Buying this term life policy requires your financial commitment for one (1) year. This policy does not have any cancelation option after the free-look period. Your coverage will automatically end at the end of the coverage term. 


    17. Are there additional fees, charges and taxes for this plan?

    There are no fees and charges other than your premium payments. Please note that premiums paid by business organisations are subject to the applicable tax imposed by the Government of Malaysia at the prevailing rate.


    18. What are the major exclusions under this policy?

    You will not be covered if you pass away in any of the following circumstances:

    1. Death by suicide within one (1) year from the issue or commencement date of the policy, whichever is later.
    2. You will not be covered if you suffer from Total and Permanent Disability due to the following circumstances:
      1. Willful exposure to danger or attempted self-destruction or self-inflicted injuries while sane or insane.
      2. Service in the armed forces at a time of declared or undeclared war, or while under orders for warlike operations or restoration of public order.
      3. Entering, exiting, operating, servicing, or being transported by any aerial device or transportation, except if you are a fare-paying passenger or crew member on a commercial passenger airline on a regular scheduled passenger trip over an established passenger route.
      4. Any congenital defect which has manifested or was diagnosed before the insured attains seventeen (17) years of age.
      5. Any disability resulting from a physical or mental condition which existed before the issue date or commencement date of the policy, whichever is later, which was not disclosed in the application or health statement.

    Note: This list is non-exhaustive. Please refer to your policy contract for the full list of exclusions.


    19. Who can I nominate?

    It can be anyone but the nominee has to be a person. You cannot put an organisation as a nominee.


    20. Is it compulsory for me to make a nomination?

    Nomination is not compulsory. However, we would suggest you to make a nomination to speed up the claims payment to your nominees.


    21. Where can I obtain the claims form & make a claim?

    If you need to make a claim, you can download the claim form here. Please complete the form, including your bank information as we will pay the approved claim directly to your bank account via e-payment. 

    You can submit the completed claim form together with the necessary documents at any of our AIA Customer Centres.

    22. How do I check on the progress of my claim?

    You can check your claim status by registering as a user of our customer portal My AIA. Please click on this link to register. You can also visit any of our Customer Centres or contact our Care Lines at 1300 88 1899.


    23. What additional documents are required if I pass away overseas?

    We will need a letter from the National Registration Department of Malaysia confirming the death. We will also need the certified copy of the death certificate issued by the country where you are at.

    25. When will AIA or AIA PUBLIC respond to my queries?

    If you send us an email, you will receive an immediate automated acknowledgement. Our customer service representatives will respond to your email within 3 working days.
