AIA Starter Plan is a term life plan which covers death for one (1) year.

This plan is commission-free and no intermediaries are involved in the sales or marketing of AIA Starter Plan.

This plan is available to individuals aged 16 to 55.

If you pass away during the policy’s term, your loved ones will receive 100% of the coverage amount.

Yes, we will pay the death claims of this plan in addition to any claims that you may have with other AIA insurance plans that covers death.

Your coverage begins immediately after your premium payment is confirmed.

You can pay the premium for this plan with your debit card or credit card.

The premium for this plan is guaranteed throughout the one (1) year term.

You only have to pay the premium throughout the one (1) year term.

The coverage term is for one (1) year only.

Yes, you may buy more than one (1) AIA Starter Plan but the total coverage of all the policies purchased must not exceed RM30,000. However, it is advisable to purchase the amount of coverage that is suitable to your needs in one policy.

No. After the expiry date, you may purchase a new AIA Starter Plan if you wish to continue to be covered under AIA Starter Plan.

You may decrease your coverage amount at the next premium due date. However, you may not increase your coverage amount. If you would like to increase your coverage, we would suggest that you purchase an additional policy. Please refer to FAQ number 13 for more information.

Upon your successful purchase and premium payment, we will send you a confirmation email together with your e-policy contract. Please keep this email secure as proof of coverage. However, should you lose this email, you can always log on to our customer portal, AIA+, to view your policy details and download a copy of your e-policy contract. Yes, you have the option to cancel or surrender your policy. We will refund the premium based on the table below, provided that no claims have been made during the current policy year.

*Free Look Period – You may cancel the policy by giving a written request that is signed by you to AIA Bhd within fifteen (15) days of your e-policy contract being made available on AIA’s customer portal. The premiums that you have paid will be refunded.

You may reinstate your policy before the policy’s expiry date by visiting any of our Customer Centres.

There are no fees and charges other than your premium payments. Please note that premiums paid by business organisations are subject to the applicable tax imposed by the Government of Malaysia at the prevailing rate.

You will not be covered if you pass away due to suicide within one (1) year from the issue or commencement date of the policy, whichever is later.

You can appoint any natural person as a nominee to your AIA Starter Plan policy. You cannot put an organisation as a nominee.

Nomination is important to ensure your nominee(s) receives the benefits from your life insurance as soon as possible, should you pass away. It is also important to ensure that the person(s) nominated is aware of this.

You can make a nomination by filling up the nomination form after you have purchased the policy and submit the completed nomination form to us. You may download a copy of the Nomination, Appointment and Revocation Form here. Please submit the completed nomination form at any of our Customer Centres or mail to:

Nomination is not compulsory. However, we would suggest you to make a nomination to speed up the claims payment to your nominees.

If you need to make a claim, you can download the forms required (item 1 and 6 listed below) here. Claimant’s Statement - Death Claim can be found under the “Claims > Claims Form” section and the Consent Form under the “Others” section. Please complete the forms, including your bank information as we will pay the approved claim directly to your bank account via e-payment.

Below are the list of documents that you would need to make a claim:

1) Claimant’s Statement – Death Claim

2) Death Certificate

3) Proof of claimant's relationship to deceased

4) Claimant's IC

5) JPN letter (for death outside of Malaysia)

6) 5 copies of Consent Form

Non original documents must be certified as true copy by AIA authorised staff at our AIA Customer Centres, at the police station, a school headmaster or the head of your village.

You can submit the completed claim form together with the necessary documents at any of our AIA Customer Centres.

You can check your claim status by registering as a user of our customer portal AIA+. Please click on this link to register. You can also visit any of our Customer Centres or contact our Care Line at 1300-88-1899.

We will need a letter from the National Registration Department of Malaysia confirming the death. We will also need the certified copy of the death certificate issued by the country where you are at.
