Q: How much cost of insurance do I have to pay?
Cost of insurance is RM10 per month. Please note that the cost of insurance is not guaranteed and the Company reserves the right to revise the cost of insurance by giving you 30 days’ prior written notice.
Q: What are the fees and charges that I have to pay?
There are no fees and charges other than the cost of insurance.
Q: How do I enroll for the Personal Medical Case Management Benefit?
AIA Malaysia customers can visit agmyap.teladochealthasia.com or e-mail aiamy_casemgt@teladochealthasia.com to enroll. Customers can call Teladoc’s hotline at +603 3099 7919 (Monday to Sunday, 9 am to 9 pm, excluding Public Holiday) to check if they are eligible for this service.
Upon completion of the enrolment and if the customer is eligible for this service, Teladoc will assign a dedicated Physician Case Manager to the customer. The Physician Case Manager will then contact the customer via phone or email and provide guidance at every step of their medical journey.
Q: How does Personal Medical Case Management Benefit under A-Plus MedCare differ from a second opinion?
Most second opinion services review medical reports and information to provide an independent diagnosis and recommended treatment plan. Following the second opinion, a patient is often left with questions, as well as the need to find the best doctor and hospital to administer the treatment.
With A-Plus MedCare, the customer is never alone. For this service, the case management team, led by the Physician Case Manager, supports the customer throughout their medical journey, from diagnosis to recovery.
Q: How will my medical information and reports be obtained?
When you choose to use the Personal Medical Case Management service, you will be required to provide your consent and agree to the terms of the Personal Medical Case Management service, as well as submit all relevant medical information and reports at hand from your current treating doctor for the diagnosis that you would like to seek for second medical opinion. This approval will also allow Teladoc to obtain any missing medical reports from various sources.
AIA Malaysia and Teladoc recognise the importance and sensitivity of such personal data and will only share information that is required to accurately analyse the customer’s condition and enable appropriate recommendations to be made.
Q: Will I be referred for treatment abroad?
Teladoc's assessment of treatment is based on medical necessity. Generally, you will be referred to available treatment locally, but you may be recommended to obtain consultation or treatment abroad in the rare instances where there is a lack of local expertise in relevant fields.
Please note that if you decide to proceed with the treatment plan as recommended by our service provider, the cost of medical treatment may or may not be covered under your Policy or medical card with the Company. You are advised to confirm your Policy coverage with the Company before performing the treatment.
Q: What if the treating doctor disagrees with the treatment recommendation?
In such a situation, with your permission, Teladoc will discuss your case with the treating doctor and collectively agree upon the best course of action for you. However, the decision on how to proceed with the suggested treatment plan is on the patient.
Q: What happens in the case of a wrong medical recommendation?
Teladoc provides a Personal Medical Case Management service to empower patients to make informed decisions and support the patients in their medical care journey. Through this service, Teladoc helps customers to get accurate diagnosis and select the best course of treatment, however, Teladoc does not treat patients directly, nor prescribe medications. The patient makes the treatment decision in consultation with the treating doctor. With that, Teladoc does not take on the responsibility for wrong medication recommendation or medical malpractice.
AIA Malaysia is not involved in the recommendations that are provided. The intent is for our service provider to provide independent opinion that is neutral.
Q: What are the major exclusions for A-Plus MedCare?
