FAQ
At AIA Vitality, we want to encourage our members to genuinely improve their health. One of the ways to do this is to encourage heart rate tracking, which has been clinically proven to increase the likelihood of living a longer life in good health.
From the 15,000 points maximum points you can earn from physical activities in your membership year, only a maximum of 10,000 points can be achieved through steps. These points will then be used to level up your Vitality status.
Example 1: John currently have 2,500 points through online assessments. He also exercised 300 days with 7,500 steps in his membership year (300 x 50 points = 15,000 points)
John’s Overall Points at the end of membership year = 2,500 + 10,000 = 12,500 points at Silver status since the step points capping applies to him.
Example 2: Amelia currently have 6,000 points through Vitality Health Check. She has exercised as per below:
-100 days of 7,500 steps = 100 x 50 points = 5,000 points
-100 days of 30 minutes workout @70% maximum heart rate = 100 x 100 points = 10,000
Amelia’s Overall Points at the end of membership year = 6,000 + 5,000 + 10,000 = 21,000 points at Gold status.
Yes, you can still earn Weekly Challenge rewards as the step points capping only applies to your Vitality status achievement. You can still earn step points to achieve your weekly challenge goal to get your voucher reward or device cashback.
If you have already achieved more than 10,000 steps in your current membership year, this capping will only apply from 1 October 2024 onwards.
For example, Mia has already achieved 11,000 points from steps as of 30 September 2024, and her membership year ends 31 Dec 2024. From 1 Oct 2024, points from steps will only contribute to Weekly Challenge completion and will not be included in her Overall Vitality points.
