KUALA LUMPUR, 4 April 2018 – AIA Bhd., has announced the launch of Malaysia’s Healthiest Workplace 2018 by AIA Vitality (the “Survey”), a comprehensive survey of the health and wellbeing of employees in Malaysia. This marks the second year that AIA will be embarking on this effort to survey a board range of organisations according to size and their workforces from different industries across Malaysia.
The Survey1 will provide a comprehensive overview of Malaysian employees’ health and wellbeing which in turn help employers to identify effective interventions so that they can improve health promotion strategies to create a healthier environment for their people.

The response towards the survey in 2017 has been very encouraging and we know that the health and wellbeing of employees will continue to be a crucial topic in Malaysia as we look towards increasing workforce productivity and well-being. Our inaugural survey in 2017 discovered that Malaysia experiences a high loss of productivity, as the average annual cost of health-related absenteeism and presenteeism* is approximately RM2.7 million per organisation.”
“It is our goal that we continue to equip employers with the best insights and strategies to help improve business productivity while also improving wellbeing in the workplace and helping employees in Malaysia live healthier, longer and better lives,” added Anusha.
The Malaysia’s Healthiest Workplace 2018 by AIA Vitality is free to enter and is open to any organisation with a minimum of 20 employees. Registration will be open from now until the end of May. The Survey will identify Malaysia’s Healthiest Employer, Healthiest Employees and Healthiest Workplace across three organisation size categories – Small Organisation (20-249 employees); Medium Organisation (250-999 employees) and Large Organisation (1,000 employees and more). This year will also feature a new award category – Malaysia’s Most Improved Workplace which is open to companies who have participated in the 2017 survey and who will be participating again this year. Winners will be announced at the end of 2018.
Each participating employer will receive a comprehensive ‘Organisational Assessment Report’ which includes findings from both employer and employee responses. AIA will also provide each participating employee with a comprehensive overview of their health and wellbeing in terms of lifestyle, clinical indicators, mental health, stress and other areas that may concern them, as well as a personal report detailing their AIA Vitality Age.
