Description of the benefits listed below:

Benefits Descriptions
Accidental Death & Dismemberment Benefit

When by reason of injury (i.e. only when carrying out the recreational sports activities for leisure purpose within Malaysia) the Covered Person suffers any of the events stipulated below, We shall pay the amount of benefit as shown in the Table of Benefits above:

  1. Death due to an Injury;
  2. Total and irrecoverable loss of sight of BOTH eyes;
  3. Total loss of TWO (2) limbs at or above wrist or ankle; or
  4. Total and irrecoverable loss of sight of ONE (1) eye and total loss of ONE (1) limb at or above the wrist or ankle.
Accidental Medical Reimbursement

When by reason of Injury (i.e. only when carrying out the recreational sports activities for leisure purpose within Malaysia) the Covered Person requires treatment by a Registered Medical Practitioner or Surgeon, Confinement in a Hospital or the employment of a Licensed Nurse or Graduate Nurse, We shall reimburse the Reasonable and Customary expenses incurred within thirty (30) days from the date of Accident for such medical treatment, surgery, Hospital charges, nursing fees, medical/specialist report fees and ambulance fees, but not to exceed the amount of benefit as shown in the Table of Benefits above.

However, in the event the Covered Person becomes entitled to a refund of all or part of such expenses from any other source, We shall only be liable for the excess of the amount recoverable from such other sources. All medical reimbursement claims must be supported by the original medical bill(s).

Daily Hospital Income

When by reason of Injury (i.e. only when carrying out the recreational sports activities for leisure purpose within Malaysia) the Covered Person requires Confinement in a Hospital, We shall pay the amount of benefit as shown in the Table of Benefits above for each day of hospitalisation, up to a maximum of thirty (30) days from the date of Accident, in respect of one (1) Confinement. Consecutive hospitalisations resulting from the same Injury shall be considered as one (1) Confinement.

All Daily Hospital Income claims must be evidenced and supported by Hospital admission and discharge certification and/or original medical bill(s).

 

Notes:

  1. AIA+ app user/non-AIA+ app user status of the Covered Person at point of claims will be used to determine the benefit amount payable.
  2. Each Covered Person is limited to signing up for this Free Lifestyle Sports Cover only ONCE during the coverage period.
  3. Each coverage period can claim on ONE (1) accident event only.
  4. During the coverage period, only 1 accidental event is covered. The Covered Person can claim for all 3 benefits from this 1 accidental event.
  5. There is no waiting period; The coverage is effective upon successful registration.
  6. This free coverage is subject to a total claim limit of RM 1million (for AIA Bhd., AIA PUBLIC Takaful Bhd., and AIA General Berhad, combined (collectively known as “AIA”, “We”, “Us” or “Our”)). This is aggregated between all the free covers which are offered by Us.
  7. Please refer to Appendix 1 for the definitions.
  8. Please refer to Question 9 for the exclusions to Free Lifestyle Sports Cover.

You can sign up for this free coverage from 1 April 2025 to 30 June 2025.

To be eligible for this coverage, the customer needs to be:

  1. A Malaysian citizen currently residing in Malaysia; and
  2. Between the age of 18 and 55.

The coverage period of this free coverage is effective upon successful registration until 31 July 2025, or upon reaching a total claims limit of RM1 million (for AIA Bhd., AIA PUBLIC Takaful Bhd., and AIA General Berhad, combined), whichever is earlier. The total claims limit of RM1 million is aggregated between all the free covers which are offered by Us. AIA reserves the right to withdraw this Free Lifestyle Sports Cover at any time with prior notice. 

No. The coverage is only eligible for Malaysians residing in Malaysia only.

No. This Free Lifestyle Sports Cover only covers accident events which happen to the Covered Person within Malaysia during the coverage period. 

Yes. You can continue to make claims for the benefits provided under this Free Lifestyle Sports Cover if the injury is caused by the same accident event which happened during the coverage period, up to the benefit limit stipulated in Table of Benefits under Q1.

This free coverage is valid for 1 accident event during the coverage period only. No benefit is payable for any death or injuries caused by the subsequent and different accident events even though happened within the same coverage period.

Yes. This free coverage does not cover any claim where the basis of the claim is caused directly or indirectly, wholly or partly by any of the following:

  1. engaging in a sport in a professional capacity or where the Covered Person would or could earn income or remuneration from engaging in such sport;

  2. racing of any kind; or

  3. engaging in any Hazardous Activity.

Your Free Lifestyle Sports Cover will commence on the day your registration on the microsite is successful. If your application is successful, you will receive a welcome email within 14 working days from the registration date.

You will then be required to download the AIA+ mobile app via Google Play, App Store or Huawei App Gallery and register your AIA+ account. Once completed, you may view your benefits via the AIA+ app. You are highly encouraged to download the AIA+ mobile app to enjoy higher coverage for this Free Lifestyle Sports Cover. 

Do not worry. This is a system default setting in the AIA+ app and does not mean you are an AIA employee. It does not affect your eligibility for the Free Lifestyle Sports Cover. This is where you can view details of your Free Lifestyle Sports Cover in the AIA+ App.

Note:

  1. Claims must be submitted within 60 days from the accident/ diagnosis date.
  2. We may request additional information and/or supporting documents when required; your early response will expedite the processing of your claim.

One of the reasons is you may have provided incorrect information during the claims application. Please resubmit the claim application with the correct information and contact your respective Life Planner for assistance.

All ages referred to under this free coverage shall be the age of Covered Person’s last birthday.

“Accident” means a sudden, unintentional, unexpected, unusual, and specific event that occurs at an identifiable time and place which shall, independently of any other cause, be the sole cause of bodily Injury.

“Confinement” or “Confined in a Hospital” shall mean admission in a Hospital for a minimum period of six (6) hours upon the recommendation of a Physician and continuous stay in the Hospital prior to the Covered Person’s discharge. Confinement shall be evidenced by a daily room/room and board charged by the Hospital.

“Hazardous Activity” refers to mountaineering or abseiling necessitating the use of ropes and other climbing equipment, offshore activities beyond five (5) kilometers off any coastline and including rafting or canoeing involving white water rapids, bungee jumping, flying or other aerial activities (unless as a fare-paying passenger in a fully licensed aircraft), underwater activities involving the use of any artificial breathing apparatus to a depth of more than eighteen (18) metres, horseback polo playing, steeple chasing, any form of martial arts, racing (other than on foot or swimming) or trial of speed or reliability, ski-jumping, ski-bob racing, freestyle skiing including the use of bob sleighs, professional sporting activities and competitions of any kind, any organised sporting holiday and any other activities that require a degree of skill.

“Hospital” shall mean only an establishment duly constituted and registered as a Hospital for the care and treatment of sick and injured persons as paying bed-patients, and which:

  1. has facilities for diagnosis and major surgery;
  2. provides twenty-four (24) hour a day nursing services by registered and Graduate Nurses;
  3. is under the supervision of a Physician; and
  4. is not primarily a clinic; a place for alcoholics or drug addicts; a nursing, rest or convalescent home or a home for the aged or similar establishment.

 

“Injury” means bodily Injury caused solely by Accident.

“Covered Person” shall mean the person(s) covered whom must meet the following eligibility and has/have successfully applied for this free coverage:

  • Age last birthday at the time of registration is between eighteen (18) years old and fifty-five (55) years old; and a Malaysian citizen residing in Malaysia.

 

“Licensed Nurse” or “Graduate Nurse” shall mean any person that upon successful completion of a recognised college or school of nursing, is legally authorised by the government of the geographical area of his/her practice to render nursing services, but excluding a Licensed Nurse or Graduate Nurse who is the Covered Person/Owner himself, an insurance agent/authorised insurance intermediary, business partner(s) or employer/employee of the Covered Person/Owner or a member of the Covered Person’s immediate family or related in similar fashion to the Owner.

“Medically Necessary” means a medical service which is:

  1. consistent with the diagnosis and customary medical treatment for a covered disability and/or Injury;
  2. in accordance with standards of good medical practice, consistent with current standard of professional medical care, and of proven medical benefits;
  3. not for the convenience of the Covered Person or the Physician, and unable to be reasonably rendered out of Hospital (if admitted as an in-patient);
  4. not of an experimental, investigational or research nature, preventive or screening nature; and
  5. for which the charges are fair and reasonable and customary for the disability and/or Injury.

 

“Physician”, “Registered Medical Practitioner” or “Surgeon” shall mean any person qualified by degree in western medicine and who is legally authorised in the geographical area of his practice to practise medicine and surgery, but excluding the Covered Person/Owner himself, an insurance agent/authorised insurance intermediary, business partner(s) or employer/employee of the Covered Person/Owner or a member of the Covered Person’s immediate family or related in similar fashion to the Owner.

“Reasonable and Customary” shall mean any medical fee or expense which is charged for treatment, supplies or medical services Medically Necessary to treat an Covered Person’s condition under the care, supervision or order of a Physician; does not exceed the usual level of charges for similar treatment, supplies or medical services in the locality where the expense is incurred; and does not include charges that would not have been made if no insurance existed.

Whenever the context requires, masculine form shall apply to feminine and singular term shall include the plural.

Free Manja Cover

The Free Manja Cover provides medical reimbursement if the Covered Person (i.e. the child) is hospitalised due to a diagnosis of influenza, dengue, food poisoning or Covid-19 within Malaysia.

You can sign up for this free medical coverage from 1 April 2025 to 30 June 2025. 

To be eligible for this free medical coverage, the child needs to be:

  1. A Malaysian citizen residing in Malaysia;
  2. A child aged between 3 months and 6 years old; and
  3. Parents/Legal guardians (the applicants) aged between 18 and 70 years old.

 

Note: Only parents or the legal guardians can sign up for this free medical coverage for children under their care.

“Registered Medical Practitioner” shall mean any person qualified by degree in western medicine and who is legally authorised in the geographical area of his practice to practise medicine and surgery, but excluding the Covered Person/Owner himself, an insurance agent/authorised insurance intermediary, business partner(s) or employer/employee of the Covered Person/Owner or a member of the Covered Person’s immediate family or related in similar fashion to the Owner.

Whenever the context requires, masculine form shall apply to feminine and singular term shall include the plural.

Shield & Get Rewarded Campaign

Terms and Conditions

  1. This Shield & Win ("Campaign") is organised by AIA Bhd., AIA PUBLIC Takaful Bhd. and AIA General Berhad (“AIA”, “we”, “our” or “us”). By joining this Campaign, you (“you”, “your” or “customer”) agree that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the Terms and Conditions of this Campaign and by any change or modification that we may make to this Campaign and/or the Terms and Conditions of this Campaign with prior notice to you. By joining this Campaign, you further agree to be bound by our Privacy Policy or any change or modification made from time to time. The Privacy Policy can be accessible at https://www.aia.com.my/en/index/privacy-statement.html. 

  2. Campaign Period
    20 January 2025 to 30 June 2025, both dates inclusive. Policies/Certificates must be activated by 31 July 2025.

  3. Eligible Products
    This Campaign includes products distributed by AIA Life Planner and from any of the following category: Life Protection, Medical Protection, Critical Illness Protection, Savings & Investment or Accident Protection, (“Eligible Products”) underwritten by AIA Bhd., AIA PUBLIC Takaful Bhd. or AIA General Berhad respectively. This Campaign is open for all premium/contribution payment modes (annual, semi-annual, quarterly and monthly).

    Policies/Certificates purchased under the Campaign are referred to as “Eligible Policies/Certificates”.

    Policy/Certificate owners who fulfil the criteria of:
    1. Have at least one Eligible Policies/Certificates are referred to as “Eligible Customers”.

  4. Campaign Reward
    Eligible Customers who successfully sign up for any of the Eligible Products and fulfil all the requirements in the Campaign Eligibility and Campaign Mechanism sections will be entitled to one (1) entry to participate in the “Smash the Egg” gamification activity and will receive a notification from AIA within tten (10) days of the subsequent month upon policy/certificate activation date (“Eligible Entry”).

    Each Eligible Entry shall be rewarded with a guaranteed randomised reward (“Gift”) as per the table below if all the Campaign requirements are met:

    Note:
    • Customers who qualified for the Eligible Entry will receive the Touch ‘n Go Reload Voucher PIN code during participation in the “Smash the Egg” gamification activity.
    • The Beats Solo Buds and Xiaomi Robot Vacuum X20 Max Gift will be delivered within 1 month after the policy/certificate activation date.
    • The Gift will be given out to all customers who qualified for the Eligible Entry through the “Smash The Egg” gamification activity, based on first come, first served basis.

    This Campaign will cease once all the Gifts are fully redeemed or at the expiration of the Campaign Period, whichever is earlier

  5. Campaign Eligibility
    1. This Campaign is open to all customers who purchase any of the Eligible Products during the Campaign Period and fulfils the Campaign requirements stated in these Terms & Conditions.
    2. This Campaign is open to Malaysian citizen, foreigner who is a permanent resident of Malaysia, work permit holder, pass holder or otherwise legally employed and legally residing in Malaysia.
    3. This Campaign is also open to AIA staff purchase.
      The Eligible Customer is entitled to participate in the “Smash The Egg” gamification activity only once, regardless of the number of policies/certificates purchased during the Campaign Period.
    4. AIA Life Planner self-purchase is ALLOWED under the Campaign. AIA Life Planner self-purchase means that the policy owner/certificate owner and/or the insured is an AIA Life Planner. AIA Life Planner self-purchase is only valid for submissions between 20 January 2025 and 30 June 2025, both dates inclusive. Policies/Certificates must be activated by 31 July 2025.

  6. Campaign Mechanics
    1. Customers will receive a notification of the Campaign from selected AIA or TNGD channels. Customers need to register their interest via the link provided in the selected channels as a form of agreement to participate in the campaign:
      • AIA Channel refers to AIA communication channel in the form of email or WhatsApp messages.
      • TNGD channel refers to any Touch ‘n Go Digital communication channel.
    2. DPP Customers must sign up with any of the Eligible Products and all policy/certificate applications must be submitted between 20 January 2025 to 30 June 2025. The Eligible Policies/Certificates must be activated by 31 July 2025.
    3. Eligible Customers will receive confirmation of their eligibility within ten (10) days of the subsequent month from their policy/certificate activation date with a participation link to enter the “Smash The Egg” gamification activity.
    4. The participation link for the “Smash The Egg” gamification activity will remain valid until 15 Aug 2025. If the Eligible Customer does not participate in or complete the activity by 15 Aug 2025, no claims will be entertained.
    5. The Eligible Policy/Certificate will be disqualified from the Gift Reward entitlement if during this Campaign Period and/or before the fulfilment of the Gift Reward, any of the Terms and Conditions set out in this document is not met, or if any of the event listed below occurs:
      • Lapse, surrender, termination, cancellation of the Eligible Policy/Certificate;
      • Partial withdrawal;
      • Premium/Contribution holiday;
      • Premium/Contribution not paid up to date;
      • Lapsed but reinstated; or
      • Deferment of premium/contribution payment
    6. The Gift will be delivered within 1 monthafter the policy/certificate activation date of the Eligible Policy/Certificate as per AIA’s record.
    7. Delivery of the Gifts is limited to within Malaysia only.
    8. Eligible Customers agree and authorise AIA to disclose their personal information (including but not limited to name, NRIC number, mailing address, contact number and email address) to the vendor/distributor/agent who would then contact Eligible Customers regarding the delivery of their Gift. Eligible Customers shall be responsible to make the necessary arrangements with the vendor/distributor/agent for the delivery and/or collection of the Gift. All taxes, charges and incidental costs in this regard shall be borne by Eligible Customers.
    9. AIA shall not be liable for any loss or damage that occurs to the Gift during the delivery process.
    10. AIA reserves the right to substitute the Gift with an item of a similar value, depending on availability at any time without prior notice.
    11. AIA shall not be responsible for any loss, damage, delay, tampering, theft, or modification of the Gift once it has been provided to Eligible Customers. AIA shall be released and fully discharged from further liability and demand in relation to the Gift.
    12. AIA is not the distributor of the Gifts and makes no warranty or representation as to the quality or merchantability of the Gifts provided and shall not be responsible for any defect or any other loss or damage that may be suffered in connection with the Gift. Any dispute over the Gift provided by the distributor of the Gift should be resolved directly between Eligible Customers and the distributor of the Gift.
    13. AIA may extend the timeline and methods of delivery of the Gift or Cash Reward at their discretion.
  7. Important Notes and Disclaimers
    1. This material is not intended as an offer or solicitation for the purpose or sale of any financial instrument/product. You should satisfy yourself that the policy/certificate purchased will best serve your needs and that the premium payable under the policy/certificate is an amount that you can afford.   8. General Provisions
    1. You are always solely responsible for maintaining the accuracy of your information. AIA may request for further information from you to determine the authenticity of any information provided, including whether it is fraudulent or exaggerated.
    2. AIA may decline the Gift Reward entitlement in the event any of the Terms and Conditions pursuant to this Campaign is not fulfilled. No appeal(s) will be entertained.
    3. AIA shall have the right to decide all matters, and disputes concerning this Campaign including substituting the Gift or Cash Reward with other form of gifts/rewards of equivalent value.
    4. AIA shall have the right to amend the Terms and Conditions of this Campaign, and to suspend, terminate, delay or vary this Campaign with prior notice to you. The mode of notification (if any) of the amendment, suspension, termination, delay or variation shall be at AIA's discretion, including but not limited to displaying the same in any of AIA's website or social media sites.
    5. AIA shall not be liable for any losses, damages or liabilities incurred by Customers or third parties arising from participation in this Campaign, including but not limited to losses caused by technical errors, incomplete or fraudulent information or failure to comply with the Campaign Terms and Conditions.
    6. The Gift are non-transferable. Any request for the Gift to be delivered to a third party will not be entertained.

Terms and Conditions

  1. Introduction
    This Refer a Friend, Get Rewarded! Campaign (“Campaign") is organised by AIA Bhd., AIA PUBLIC Takaful Bhd. and AIA General Berhad (collectively referred to as “AIA”, “we”, “our” or “us”). By participating in this Campaign, you (“you”, “your” or “customer”) acknowledge and confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be legally bound by the Terms and Conditions set forth herein, as well as any amendments, modifications or updates that AIA may introduce from time to time. AIA reserves the right to amend, modify or update these terms and conditions and/or any aspect of this Campaign at its sole discretion, with or without prior notice to you. All personal data provided under this Campaign will be managed in accordance with AIA Malaysia’s Privacy Statement which explains how AIA processes personal data and for what purposes.

  2. Campaign Period
    The Campaign shall start from 17 March 2025, at 00:00 AM until 31 December 2025, at 11:59 PM Malaysia time (“Campaign Period”). AIA reserves the right to vary, postpone, or re-schedule the dates of the Campaign Period or extend the Campaign Period at its sole discretion.

  3. Eligible Participants
    The Campaign is open to the Referrer and Referee as defined herein.
    Referrer
    1. The selected AIA customers who receive an invite to participate in this Campaign.
    2. The permanent and/or contract employees of AIA is also eligible to participate in this Campaign if they receive the invite to participate in this Campaign. AIA Life Planners are not eligible to participate in this Campaign.

    Referee
    1. A Malaysian citizen or a foreigner who is a permanent resident of Malaysia, a work permit holder, a pass holder or otherwise legally employed and residing in Malaysia.
    2. The permanent and/or contract employees of AIA is also eligible to be the Referee. AIA Life Planners are not eligible to participate in this Campaign.
    3. The Referee is not AIA customer, not assigned or attended to by an AIA Life Planner during the Campaign Period.
  4. Campaign Mechanics
    1. The Referral Code is a unique code shared by us to the Referrer via WhatsApp.
    2. The Referrer shall share the unique Referral Code with the Referee.
    3. The Referral Code must be accurately keyed in the Promo Code field in the Referral Form by the Referee.
    4. The Referee purchases any insurance/takaful product from an AIA Life Planner, and from any of the following category: Life Protection, Medical Protection, Critical Illness Protection, Savings & Investment or Accident Protection (“Eligible Products”) with a minimum Annualised New Premium (ANP) or Annualised New Contribution (“ANC”) of RM2,000, regardless of the premium/contribution payment modes (annual, semi-annual, quarterly and monthly).
  5. Referrer and Referee Rewards (“Reward”)
    1. The Reward is a RM50 Touch ‘n Go Reload PIN and shall be fulfilled by us via WhatsApp after 30 days from policy/ certificate set in force date.
    2. The Referrer and the Referee shall each receive a RM50 Touch ‘n Go Reload PIN reward.
    3. The Referrer and the Referee shall receive the Reward when Successful Referral occurs.
    4. The new policy/certificate purchased by the Referee must be in force at the time of reward fulfilment.
  6. Successful Referral
    The Referrer and the Referee must meet all the following requirements in order to have Successful Referral and be eligible for the Reward:
    1. The Referrer shall share a unique Referral Code retrieved from us via WhatsApp, with their friends and family.
    2. The Referee will need to receive the unique Referral Code and Referral Form from the Referrer.
    3. The Referee will need to fill in their details in the form from the Referrer, and accurately input the Referral Code in the Referral Form.
    4. Upon submitting the Referral Form, the Referee is deemed to have given marketing consent to be contacted by an AIA Life Planner.
  7. Unsuccessful Referral
    Unsuccessful Referral occurs in a situation where the Referee does not fulfil the Successful Referral requirements, i.e.:
    1. The Referee inputs an inaccurate unique Referral Code upon purchasing.
    2. The Referrer input their own unique Referral Code to purchase the Product.
  8. Disqualification
    1. The Referrer and/or the Referee who fails to meet all requirements as detailed in Clause 7, or any of the below General Terms and Conditions will not be eligible to receive the Reward.
    2. If the Referee’s Product purchase is later cancelled, changed, or refunded, AIA reserves the right to revoke the Reward for the Referrer and/or the Referee.
    3. In the event that the Referrer and/ or the Referee is found to have committed fraud in any manner at any point of time during the Campaign, AIA reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify the Referrer and/or the Referee and to cancel/withdraw/recall the Reward granted to the Referrer and/or the Referee, failing which, the Referrer and/or the Referee agrees and undertakes to indemnify AIA for the value and costs of such Reward. AIA shall have the right to initiate any action it deems necessary against the said Referrer and/or Referee.
  9. Uncaptured Transaction
    1. In the event that during the Campaign the Referrer’s Referral Code is entered wrongly, AIA reserves the right to exclude the fulfilment of the Reward to the Referrer and the Referee.
    2. Nonetheless, we will, on a best-effort basis, ensure that the transaction is captured correctly and grant the Reward for the Referrer and the Referee.
  10. General Terms and Conditions
    1. By entering or participating in this Campaign, the Referrer and Referee hereby fully and unconditionally agree and accept all terms and conditions herein contained and agreed that the decisions of AIA, regarding the Campaign and all matters relating to or in connection thereto are final and binding and no such queries, appeals or correspondence will be entertained.
    2. AIA reserves the right to cancel, revise, shorten, extend, suspend, or terminate the Campaign at any time without prior notice to the Referrer and the Referee. For avoidance of doubt, any cancellation, revision, shortening, extension, suspension, or termination of the Campaign at any time shall not entitle the Referrer and the Referee to claim any compensation from AIA for any and all losses or damages suffered or incurred by the Referrer and the Referee because of the said cancellation, extension, suspension, or termination.
    3. These Terms and Conditions prevail over any provisions or representations contained in any brochure or other promotional materials advertised under this Campaign.
    4. AIA is the final authority to decide on the interpretation of these Terms and Conditions and as to any other matters relating to this Campaign.

Free Khairat Cover

The Free Khairat Cover helps with the cost of funeral expenses or related administrative expenses in the unfortunate event of the Covered Person’s death due to an Accident.

  • engaging in any Hazardous Activity.

“Accident” means a sudden, unintentional, unexpected, unusual, and specific event that occurs at an identifiable time and place which shall, independently of any other cause, be the sole cause of bodily Injury.

“Covered Person” shall mean the person(s) who must meet the following eligibility and has/have successfully applied for this free coverage:
• Age last birthday at the time of registration is between fifteen (15) days old and seventy (70) years old; and a Malaysian citizen residing in Malaysia.

“Injury” means bodily Injury caused solely by Accident.

“We”, “Our” or “Us” shall mean AIA Bhd., AIA PUBLIC Takaful Bhd., and AIA General Berhad.

Whenever the context requires, masculine form shall apply to feminine and singular term shall include the plural.

Free PA Boost

The Free PA Boost supports the Covered Person’s recovery from an Accident with the following coverage when the Covered Person suffers from an Injury due to an Accident within Malaysia.

Benefits Description
Alternative Treatment In the event the Covered Person requires treatment by an Acupuncturist, Bonesetter, Chiropractor or Osteopath following the Injury due to an Accident, We will reimburse the Reasonable and Customary expenses incurred but not to exceed the amount of benefit as shown in the Table of Benefits above.

This is provided that the treatment is sought after the first consultation by a Registered Medical Practitioner and upon satisfactory proof of bone fractures by X-ray, if required by Us.
Accidental Medical Reimbursement In the event the Covered Person requires treatment by a Registered Medical Practitioner or Surgeon, Confinement in a Hospital or the employment of a Licensed Nurse or Graduate Nurse following the Injury due to an Accident, We shall reimburse the Reasonable and Customary expenses incurred for medical treatment, surgery, Hospital charges, nursing fees, medical/specialist report fees and ambulance fees, but not to exceed the amount of benefit as shown in the Table of Benefits above.
Corrective Dental and Cosmetic Surgery In the event the Covered Person requires corrective dental surgery for replacement or repair of sound natural teeth or cosmetic surgery performed on the neck, head or chest following the Injury due to an Accident, We shall reimburse the Reasonable and Customary expenses incurred but not to exceed the amount of benefit as shown in the Table of Benefits above.

Such treatment must be recommended and performed by a licensed and legally registered orthodontist, cosmetic surgeon, or Registered Medical Practitioner.
Broken Bones and Burns In the event the Covered Person suffers from Bone Fractures or Second-Degree to Third-Degree Burns as shown in the table below due to an Accident, We pay the amount of benefit as shown in the Table of Benefits above.

Yes. You may make claims for Accidental Medical Reimbursement, Alternative Treatment and Corrective Dental and Cosmetic Surgery if they are caused by the same Accident, up to a total shared limit of RM1,000*.  You may also make a claim for the Broken Bones and Burns Benefit if it is caused by the same Accident, up to RM2,000*.

*Note: These benefit amounts are applicable if you are an AIA+ app user. The benefit amounts will be lower for non-AIA+ app users. Please refer to the Table of Benefits in Question 1 for more details. 

No. This Free PA Boost only covers one accidental event. However, you may make a claim for all the benefits if the Injury is caused by the same Accident which happened during the coverage period, up to the benefit limit stipulated in the Table of Benefits under Question 1. 

No. All types of fractures are covered, except hairline fractures and dislocation.

“Second Degree Burns” shall mean the skin damage extends through the epidermis layer of the skin to the dermis layer causing formation of blisters.

“Third Degree Burns” shall mean the full thickness of skin destruction due to burns.

In the event the Covered Person becomes entitled to a refund of all or part of the medical expenses from any other source, We shall only be liable for the excess of the amount recoverable from such other sources. “Acupuncturist”, “Bonesetter”, “Chiropractor” or “Osteopath” shall mean any person rendering medical services of that specific profession and is duly registered under the Traditional and Complementary Medicine Act 2016, the Allied Health Professional Act 2016 (including any re-enactments and/or amendments made thereof for the time being in force) or any prevailing or future laws or regulations, but excluding the Covered Person himself, an insurance/takaful agent/authorised insurance/takaful intermediary, business partner(s) or employer/employee of the Covered Person or a member of the Covered Person's immediate family or related in similar fashion to the Covered Person.

“Confinement” or “Confined in a Hospital” shall mean admission in a Hospital for a minimum period of six (6) hours upon the recommendation of a Physician and continuous stay in the Hospital prior to the Covered Person's discharge. Confinement shall be evidenced by a daily room/room and board charged by the Hospital.

“Covered Person” shall mean the person(s) whom must meet the following eligibility and has/have successfully applied for this free coverage:

  • Age last birthday at the time of registration is between fifteen (15) days old and seventy (70) years old; and a Malaysian citizen residing in Malaysia.

 

“Hazardous Activity” refers to mountaineering or abseiling necessitating the use of ropes and other climbing equipment, offshore activities beyond five (5) kilometers off any coastline and including rafting or canoeing involving white water rapids, bungee jumping, flying or other aerial activities (unless as a fare-paying passenger in a fully licensed aircraft), underwater activities involving the use of any artificial breathing apparatus to a depth of more than eighteen (18) metres, horseback polo playing, steeple chasing, any form of martial arts, racing (other than on foot or swimming) or trial of speed or reliability, ski-jumping, ski-bob racing, freestyle skiing including the use of bob sleighs, professional sporting activities and competitions of any kind, any organised sporting holiday and any other activities that require a degree of skill.

“Hospital” shall mean only an establishment duly constituted and registered as a Hospital for the care and treatment of sick and injured persons as paying bed-patients, and which:

  1. has facilities for diagnosis and major surgery;
  2. provides twenty-four (24) hour a day nursing services by registered and Graduate Nurses;
  3. is under the supervision of a Physician; and
  4. is not primarily a clinic; a place for alcoholics or drug addicts; a nursing, rest or convalescent home or a home for the aged or similar establishment.

 

“Injury” means bodily Injury caused solely by Accident.

“Licensed Nurse” or “Graduate Nurse” shall mean any person that upon successful completion of a recognised college or school of nursing, is legally authorised by the government of the geographical area of his/her practice to render nursing services, but excluding a Licensed Nurse or Graduate Nurse who is the Covered Person himself, an insurance/takaful agent/authorised insurance/takaful intermediary, business partner(s) or employer/employee of the Covered Person or a member of the Covered Person’s immediate family or related in similar fashion to the Covered Person.

“Medically Necessary” means a medical service which is:

  1. consistent with the diagnosis and customary medical treatment for a covered disability and/or Injury;
  2. in accordance with standards of good medical practice, consistent with current standard of professional medical care, and of proven medical benefits;
  3. not for the convenience of the Covered Person or the Physician, and unable to be reasonably rendered out of Hospital (if admitted as an in-patient);
  4. not of an experimental, investigational or research nature, preventive or screening nature; and
  5. for which the charges are fair and reasonable and customary for the disability and/or Injury.

 

“Physician”, “Registered Medical Practitioner” or “Surgeon” shall mean any person qualified by degree in western medicine and who is legally authorised in the geographical area of his practice to practise medicine and surgery, but excluding the Covered Person himself, an insurance/takaful agent/authorised insurance/takaful intermediary, business partner(s) or employer/employee of the Covered Person or a member of the Covered Person's immediate family or related in similar fashion to the Covered Person.

“Reasonable and Customary” shall mean any medical fee or expense which is charged for treatment, supplies or medical services Medically Necessary to treat a Covered Person’s condition under the care, supervision or order of a Physician; does not exceed the usual level of charges for similar treatment, supplies or medical services in the locality where the expense is incurred; and does not include charges that would not have been made if no insurance/takaful existed.

“Second Degree Burns” shall mean the skin damage extends through the epidermis layer of the skin to the dermis layer causing formation of blisters.

“Third Degree Burns” shall mean the full thickness of skin destruction due to burns.

“We”, “Our” or “Us” shall mean AIA Bhd., AIA PUBLIC Takaful Bhd., and AIA General Berhad.

Whenever the context requires, masculine form shall apply to feminine and singular term shall include the plural.

Free Balik Kampung Cover

The Free Balik Kampung Cover consists of both Accidental Road Injury coverage and Hospital Income due to Road Accident or influenza.

Hospital Income due to Road Accident or Influenza

A daily hospital income is provided for Hospitalisations due to a road Accident or influenza, for up to 10 days. A 14-day waiting period is applicable for hospitalisation due to influenza. The daily hospital income payable is as below:

Notes:

  1. The Free Balik Kampung Cover is offered by AIA Bhd. and AIA PUBLIC Takaful Bhd. (“AIA”).
  2. AIA+ app user/non-AIA+ app user status of the Covered Person at point of claims will be used to determine the benefit amount payable.
  3. Each Covered Person is limited to signing up for Free Balik Kampung Cover only ONCE during the coverage period.
  4. During the coverage period, only one event shall be payable from each benefit, i.e., one accidental event for Accidental Road Injury and one hospitalisation event for Hospital Income due to Road Accident or Influenza. In the event the accidental event is claimable for both Accidental Road Injury and Hospital Income due to Road Accident or Influenza, the coverage shall be terminated after claim.
  5. The eligibility of the benefit under Hospital Income due to Influenza will only start after 14 days from the coverage start date. Refer to Question 5 for the coverage period.
  6. This free coverage is subject to a total claims limit of RM1 million (combined limit for AIA Bhd., AIA PUBLIC Takaful Bhd., and AIA General Berhad), whichever is earlier. This combined limit is aggregated between all the free covers.
  7. Please refer to Appendix 1 for the definition of the capitalised terms.

The following exclusions are applicable for road Accident coverage:

  • Any Pre-Existing Conditions prior to the date this enrolment was made;
  • Any Injury caused by any incident other than a road Accident within Malaysia in a private motor vehicle or public conveyance;
  • Any medical treatment or hospitalisation for any Injury incurred after thirty (30) days from the date of road Accident; and
  • Any treatment or hospitalisation that was not obtained in Malaysia.

The following exclusions are applicable for influenza coverage:

  • Any Pre-Existing Conditions prior to the date this enrolment was made;
  • Any signs or symptoms of influenza that is manifested prior to or within fourteen (14) days from the date this enrolment was made;
  • Any sickness or disease other than those caused by influenza; and
  • Any hospitalisations that are not in Malaysia.

A private motor vehicle is a vehicle that is privately owned, has a valid motor insurance coverage (not expired) and is registered under the laws of Malaysia. Examples of private motor vehicles include cars and motorbikes.

A public conveyance is a mode of licensed transport available to the general public. Examples of public conveyances include public bus, train, taxi, e-hailing services, and airport limousines.

If your application is successful, you will receive a welcome email from AIA to your registered email address in your application within 14 working days from the registration date.

  •  Age last birthday at the time of registration is between fifteen (15) days old and seventy (70) years old; and
  • a Malaysian citizen residing in Malaysia.

 

“Hospital” shall mean only an establishment duly constituted and registered as a Hospital for the care and treatment of sick and injured persons as paying bed-patients, and which:

(a)     has facilities for diagnosis and major surgery;

Free Income Cover

The Free Income Cover provides a daily hospital cash allowance for Malaysians who have been hospitalised and are unable to work due to an accident or an infectious disease diagnosis. This cover is available for those who have been hospitalised for at least 3 consecutive days, up to 14 days in total.

Description of the benefit:

Daily Hospital Cash Allowance for admission into normal ward or ICU
When by reason of Injury or diagnosis of an Infectious Disease, the Covered Person requires Confinement in a Hospital for at least three (3) consecutive days (in normal ward and/or in ICU), We shall pay the amount of benefit as shown in the Table of Benefits for each day of hospitalisation, up to a maximum of fourteen (14) days from the date of Accident or Infectious Disease, in respect of one (1) Confinement. Consecutive hospitalisations resulting from the same Injury shall be considered as one (1) Confinement.

All Daily Hospital Allowance claims must be evidenced and supported by Hospital admission and discharge certification and/or original medical bill(s).

Yes. The hospitalisation requirement for at least 3 consecutive days is based on total number of days in normal ward and ICU.  

You can claim Daily Hospital Cash Allowance up to 14 days in total and the total claim amount is RM1,600 and the breakdown is as per below:

Normal ward admission: RM100 per day X 12 days = RM1,200
ICU admission: RM200 per day X 2 days = RM400

The payout amount is based on the type of admission for first 14 days.

No. Each coverage period can only claim for one accident event or one infectious disease diagnosis only.

Yes. This Free Income Cover does not cover any accidental claim where the basis of the claim is caused directly or indirectly, wholly or partly by any of the following:

  1. war, invasion, act of foreign enemy hostilities or warlike operations (whether war be declared or not), mutiny, civil war, rebellion, revolution, insurrection, conspiracy, military or usurped power, martial law, or state of emergency;
  2. while the Covered Person is serving in the armed forces of any country or international authority, whether in peace or war;
  3. resistance to arrest, violation or attempt of violation of the law including but not limited to riding or driving without a valid license;
  4. suicide or self-destruction or any attempt thereat or self-inflicted Injury while sane or insane;
  5. mental or nervous disorders;
  6. while the Covered Person is under the influence of alcohol or use of drugs/narcotics of any kind (other than those taken in accordance with treatment prescribed and directly by a Registered Medical Practitioner, but not for the treatment of drug or alcohol addiction);
  7. pregnancy, childbirth or miscarriage, or any complications therefrom;
  8. any congenital anomalies and conditions arising out of or resulting therefrom;
  9. bacterial, viral or fungal infections (except pyogenic infections which shall occur through an accidental cut or wound and Infectious Disease covered in the respective benefits under this Policy);
  10. medical or surgical treatment (except as necessitated by Injury and Infectious Disease covered in the respective benefits under this Policy);
  11. dental treatment (except as necessitated by Injury for extraction of sound and natural teeth);
  12. any kind of disease or sickness, including but not limited to Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), Human immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Encephalopathy (dementia) and HIV Wasting Syndrome;
  13. entering, operating, or servicing, riding in or on, ascending or descending from or with any aerial device or conveyance as an operator/pilot or crew member, except while the Covered Person is riding as a fare-paying passenger in an aircraft operated by:
    1. a commercial passenger airline on a regular schedule passenger trip over its established passenger route; or
    2. aircraft having a current and valid airworthiness certificate.
  14. engaging in a sport in a professional capacity or where the Covered Person would or could earn income or remuneration from engaging in such sport;
  15. racing of any kind; or
  16. engaging in any Hazardous Activity.

  2. provides twenty four (24) hour a day nursing services by registered and Graduate Nurses;
  3. is under the supervision of a Physician; and
  4. is not primarily a clinic; a place for alcoholics or drug addicts; a nursing, rest or convalescent home or a home for the aged or similar establishment.
     

“Infectious Disease” means any of the covered Infectious Diseases listed below that:

  1. first started and was first contracted, where physical signs and symptoms are first displayed after fourteen (14) days from the Registration Date, whichever is later; and
  2. was diagnosed by a Registered Medical Practitioner using internationally accepted medical diagnostic criterion, with acceptable clinical, radiological, histological and laboratory evidence.
     

List of Covered Infectious Diseases are:

  1. Anthrax Infection;
  2. Avian Influenza or “Bird Flu”;
  3. Chikungunya Fever;
  4. Cholera;
  5. COVID-19
  6. Dengue Fever;
  7. Ebola;
  8. Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD);
  9. Japanese Encephalitis;
  10. Legionnaires’ Disease;
  11. Malaria;
  12. Measles;
  13. Melioidosis or “Soil Disease”;
  14. Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV);
  15. Mumps;
  16. Nipah Virus Encephalitis;
  17. Plague;
  18. Rabies;
  19. Rubella;
  20. Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS);
  21. Tuberculosis;
  22. Variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (vCJD) or “Mad Cow Disease”;
  23. Yellow Fever; or
  24. Zika Virus.
     

“Injury” means bodily Injury caused solely by Accident.

“Covered Person” shall mean the person(s) covered whom must meet the following eligibility and has/have successfully applied for this free coverage:

  • Age last birthday at the time of registration is between eighteen (18) years old and fifty-five (55) years old; and a Malaysian citizen residing in Malaysia.
     

“Intensive Care Unit” (ICU) means a section within a Hospital which is designated as an Intensive Care Unit by the Hospital, and which is maintained on a twenty-four (24) hour basis solely for treatment of patients in critical condition and is equipped to provide special nursing and medical services not available elsewhere in the Hospital.

“Issue Date” or “Commencement Date” is the policy effective date as stated in My AIA app and is the date when coverage under this Policy takes effect.

“Licensed Nurse” or “Graduate Nurse” shall mean any person that upon successful completion of a recognised college or school of nursing, is legally authorised by the government of the geographical area of his/her practice to render nursing services, but excluding a Licensed Nurse or Graduate Nurse who is the Covered Person or Owner himself, an insurance agent/authorised insurance intermediary, business partner(s) or employer/employee of the Covered Person/Owner or a member of the Covered Person’s immediate family or related in similar fashion to the Owner.

“Physician”, “Registered Medical Practitioner” or “Surgeon” shall mean any person qualified by degree in western medicine and who is legally authorised in the geographical area of his practice to practise medicine and surgery, but excluding the Covered Person or Owner himself, an insurance agent/authorised insurance intermediary, business partner(s) or employer/employee of the Covered Person or Owner or a member of the Covered Person’s immediate family or related in similar fashion to the Owner.

Whenever the context requires, masculine form shall apply to feminine and singular term shall include the plural.

Attribution

This campaign allows selected customers (1) to redeem up to RM200 worth of Touch ‘n Go eWallet reload vouchers when they have an eligible AIA product with Touch ‘n Go and sign up with an eligible AIA policy thereafter between 18 June to 31 Dec 2024

This offer is valid until 31 Dec 2024

Any customer who meets the following criteria: 

  • Have purchased an AIA policy through Touch ‘n Go (SafeHome, Insure360, CarInsure, Walletsafe, SafeTrip)
  • Have purchased an eligible product (2) from 18 June to 31 Dec 2024; and
  • A Malaysian residing in Malaysia 

Upon confirming that customers have met the campaign eligibility criteria, we will send a WhatsApp message with a link to redeem Touch ‘N Go eWallet reload voucher up to RM200, no later than the 10th calendar day of the following month.
