The Free Cuti-Cuti Cover consists of both Accidental Road Injury coverage and Hospital Income due to Road Accident, influenza, or heat stroke.

Benefits Descriptions
Accidental Road Injury

Medical reimbursement will be provided for bodily injuries sustained from a road Accident happening within Malaysia in a private motor vehicle or public conveyance. The reimbursement limit for the Accidental Road Injury is as below:

Hospital Income due to Road Accident, Influenza or Heat Stroke

A daily hospital income is provided for Hospitalisations due to a road Accident, influenza or heat stroke, for up to 10 days. A 14-day waiting period is applicable for hospitalisation due to influenza or heat stroke. The daily hospital income payable is as below:

Notes:

  1. The Free Cuti-Cuti Cover is offered by AIA Bhd. and AIA PUBLIC Takaful Bhd. (“AIA”).
  2. AIA+ app user/non-AIA+ app user status of the Covered Person at point of claims will be used to determine the benefit amount payable.
  3. Each Covered Person is limited to signing up for Free Cuti-Cuti Cover only ONCE during the coverage period.
  4. During the coverage period, only one event shall be payable from each benefit, i.e., one accidental event for Accidental Road Injury and one hospitalisation event for Hospital Income due to road accident, influenza or heat stroke. In the event the accidental event is claimable for both Accidental Road Injury and Hospital Income due to road accident, influenza or heat stroke, the coverage shall be terminated after claim.
  5. The eligibility of the benefit under Hospital Income due to influenza or heat stroke will only start after 14 days from the coverage start date. Refer to Question 5 for the coverage period.
  6. This free coverage is subject to a total claims limit of RM1 million (combined limit for AIA Bhd., AIA PUBLIC Takaful Bhd., and AIA General Berhad), whichever is earlier. This combined limit is aggregated between all the free covers.
  7. Please refer to Appendix 1 for the definition of the capitalised terms.
  8. Please refer to Question 7 for the exclusions to Free Cuti-Cuti Cover.

You can sign up for Free Cuti-Cuti Cover from 1 March 2025 until 30 April 2025.

To be eligible for this coverage, one needs to be:

  1. A Malaysian citizen currently residing in Malaysia; and
  2. Between the age of 15 days and 15 years old (for children) OR 16 years and 70 years old (for adults).

Note: Only parents or the legal guardians can sign up for this Free Cuti-Cuti Cover for children under their care.

*Note: Only parents or the legal guardians are allowed to sign up for this Free Cuti-Cuti Cover for children under their care. For those with more than 3 children under their care, please register using a fresh registration form.

If you do not know any AIA Life Planners, please email us at MY.Customer@aia.com and provide your Name, Contact No. and Current Location (e.g. Kepong, Kuala Lumpur) and include “Free Cuti-Cuti Cover” in the email subject. We will assign an AIA Life Planner to assist you for the enrolment. 

The coverage period of Free Cuti-Cuti Cover is effective upon successful registration until 31 May 2025 or upon reaching a total claims limit of RM1 million (combined limit for AIA Bhd., AIA PUBLIC Takaful Bhd., and AIA General Berhad), whichever is earlier. The combined limit is aggregated between all the free covers. AIA reserves the right to withdraw this Free Cuti-Cuti Cover at any time with prior notice. 

No. Free Cuti-Cuti Cover is only eligible for Malaysians who are residing in Malaysia.

The following exclusions are applicable for road Accident coverage:

  • Any Pre-Existing Conditions prior to the date this enrolment was made;
  • Any Injury caused by any incident other than a road Accident within Malaysia in a private motor vehicle or public conveyance;
  • Any medical treatment or hospitalisation for any Injury incurred after thirty (30) days from the date of road Accident; and
  • Any treatment or hospitalisation that was not obtained in Malaysia.

The following exclusions are applicable for influenza and heat stroke coverage:

  • Any Pre-Existing Conditions prior to the date this enrolment was made;
  • Any signs or symptoms of influenza or heat stroke that is manifested prior to or within fourteen (14) days from the date this enrolment was made;
  • Any sickness or disease other than those caused by influenza or heat stroke; and
  • Any hospitalisations that are not in Malaysia.

A private motor vehicle is a vehicle that is privately owned, has a valid motor insurance coverage (not expired) and is registered under the laws of Malaysia. Examples of private motor vehicles include cars and motorbikes.

A public conveyance is a mode of licensed transport available to the general public. Examples of public conveyances include public bus, train, taxi, e-hailing services, and airport limousines.

If your application is successful, you will receive a welcome email from AIA to your registered email address in your application within 14 working days from the registration date.

You will then be required to download the AIA+ mobile app via Google Play, App Store or Huawei App Gallery and register your AIA+ account. Once completed, you may view your benefits via the AIA+ app. You are highly encouraged to download the AIA+ mobile app to enjoy higher coverage for this Free Cuti-Cuti Cover.

Follow the guide below and you will be able to see that your coverage is shown (point 6) below as:

  • Accidental Road Injury of RM1,000
  • Hospital Income of RM100 per day, up to 10 days.

 

Please note that the fields/terminology(s) within the AIA+ app such as Policy/Certificate No., Company Name, Staff/Employee No., Policy/Certificate Effective Date are NOT applicable for this Free Cuti-Cuti Cover.

Notes:

  1. Claims must be submitted within thirty (30) days from the date of road Accident and/or date of discharge for Hospitalisation coverage.
  2. Medical reimbursement due to Accidental Road Injury and Hospitalisation due to road accident, influenza or heat stroke must be considered Medically Necessary by a registered medical practitioner for a claim to be permissible.
  3. We may request additional information, supporting documents or medical examination when required; your early response will expedite the processing of your claim.

All ages referred to under this free coverage shall be the age of Covered Person’s last birthday.

“Accident” means a sudden, unintentional, unexpected, unusual, and specific event that occurs at an identifiable time and place which shall, independently of any other cause, be the sole cause of bodily Injury.

“Covered Person” shall mean the person(s) whom must meet the following eligibility and has/have successfully enrolled to this Free Cuti-Cuti Cover:

  •  Age last birthday at the time of registration is between fifteen (15) days old and seventy (70) years old; and
  • a Malaysian citizen residing in Malaysia.

 

“Hospital” shall mean only an establishment duly constituted and registered as a Hospital for the care and treatment of sick and injured persons as paying bed-patients, and which:

(a)     has facilities for diagnosis and major surgery;

(b)    provides twenty-four (24) hour a day nursing services by registered and Graduate Nurses;

(c)     is under the supervision of a Physician; and

(d)    is not primarily a clinic; a place for alcoholics or drug addicts; a nursing, rest or convalescent home or a home for the aged or similar establishment.

“Injury” means bodily Injury caused solely by Accident.

“Licensed Nurse” or “Graduate Nurse” shall mean any person that upon successful completion of a recognised college or school of nursing, is legally authorised by the government of the geographical area of his/her practice to render nursing services, but excluding a Licensed Nurse or Graduate Nurse who is the Covered Person himself, an insurance agent/authorised insurance intermediary, business partner(s) or employer/employee of the Covered Person’s or a member of the Covered Person’s immediate family or related in similar fashion to the Covered Person.

“Medically Necessary” means a medical service which is:

(a)     consistent with the diagnosis and customary medical treatment for a covered disability and/or Injury;

(b)    in accordance with standards of good medical practice, consistent with current standard of professional medical care, and of proven medical benefits;

(c)     not for the convenience of the Covered Person or the Physician, and unable to be reasonably rendered out of Hospital (if admitted as an in-patient);

(d)    not of an experimental, investigational or research nature, preventive or screening nature; and

(e)     for which the charges are fair and reasonable and customary for the disability and/or Injury.

“Physician” or “Registered Medical Practitioner” shall mean any person qualified by degree in western medicine and who is legally authorised in the geographical area of his practice to practise medicine and surgery, but excluding the Covered Person himself, an insurance agent/authorised insurance intermediary, business partner(s) or employer/employee of the Covered Person or a member of the Covered Person’s immediate family or related in similar fashion to the Covered Person.

"Pre-Existing Conditions" means illnesses/disabilities prior to the date this enrolment is made that the Covered Person has reasonable knowledge of. A Covered Person may be considered to have reasonable knowledge of a Pre-Existing Condition where the condition is one for which:

(a)   the Covered Person had received or is receiving treatment;

(b)   medical advice, diagnosis, care or treatment has been recommended;

(c)    clear and distinct symptoms are or were evident; or

(d)   its existence would have been apparent to a reasonable person in the circumstances.

Whenever the context requires, masculine form shall apply to feminine and singular term shall include the plural.
