Being an adult comes with many responsibilities, and some can be overwhelming. One of the most common topics that young adults avoid, is insurance. However, we are often advised by our elders to purchase insurance, especially after we receive our first paycheck. Why is insurance important, and what do young adults actually think about it?
We spoke to a group of people in their 20’s, and here are some common thoughts they have:
MEDICAL INSURANCE FROM AN EMPLOYER IS ALL YOU NEED.
“My workplace already gives me the best hospitalization plan in town. Why do I need my own?” – Jeya
YOUNG PEOPLE DON’T NEED CRITICAL ILLNESS INSURANCE.
”I only need to make sure that if I’m covered if I fall sick. I doubt I will need any additional illness coverage at my age.” - Siva
“I am young and healthy. I doubt I will get any critical illnesses at my age.”- Ying
SINGLE PEOPLE DON’T NEED LIFE INSURANCE
“It doesn’t matter if I kick the bucket. No one is depending on me to provide.” - Chong
