AIA Vitality members can enjoy 25% discount on the recommended retail price of selected Garmin wearables.

You can track your steps, heart rate, workouts, and sleep with your Garmin device.
Heart Rate
The table below shows the number of points you earn when you track your exercise at the required heart rate with a Garmin wearable. If your heart rate data is not available, we will award you points based on how much energy you use when you exercise, i.e. your calorie information, or on the average speed of your exercise.
At least 30 minutes of physical activity in one exercise session a day at an average of more than 60% of your age-related maximum heart rate.
50 Points
At least 30 minutes of physical activity in one exercise session a day at an average of more than 70% of your age-related maximum heart rate.
100 Points
At least 60 minutes of physical activity in one exercise session a day at an average of more than 60% of your age-related maximum heart rate.

HOW TO CALCULATE YOUR REQUIRED HEART RATE
Speed
At least 30 minutes of physical activity in one exercise session a day at a minimum average speed of 4 kilometres an hour (km/h).

At least 30 minutes of physical activity in one exercise session a day at a minimum average speed of 7.2 kilometres an hour (km/h).
100 Points
At least 60 minutes or more of physical activity in one exercise session a day at a minimum average speed of 4 kilometres an hour (km/h).

Calories Burned
At least 30 minutes of physical activity and a minimum of 150 calories burned (at a rate of no fewer than 300 calories an hour) in one exercise session a day.

At least 30 minutes of physical activity and a minimum of 300 calories burned (at a rate of no fewer than 600 calories an hour) in one exercise session a day.
100 Points
At least 60 minutes or more of physical activity and a minimum of 300 calories burned (at a rate of no fewer than 300 calories an hour) in one exercise session a day.

The table below shows the number of points you earn for the steps data we receive from Garmin. If your steps data is not available, we will award you points based on your heart rate, or the average speed of your exercise.

Need to Know

Shipping rates may apply for your purchase on the website.

You may purchase up to 2 Garmin fitness devices each calendar year.

This discount does not apply to Garmin purchases made at retail stores or through other websites.

You are required to link and sync your Garmin wearable with AIA Vitality to be awarded points.

How To Calculate Your Required Heart Rate
Example of Points Allocation
  • To calculate your maximum heart rate, take 220 and subtract your age. For example, if you are 30 years old, 190 beats per minute (bpm) is your maximum heart rate (220 - 30 = 190).
  • Calculate your required heart rate by multiplying 60% or 70% to your maximum heart rate. If you are 30 years old, your target heart rate at 60% is 114bpm and at 70% is 133bpm.
Example:
  • Mr. Chan is 30 years old. His age-related maximum heart rate is 190bpm (220 - 30).
  • Mr. Chan must keep his average heart rate above 114bpm (60% of his maximum heart rate) during his 30-minute exercise session to earn 50 points.
  • If Mr. Chan keeps his heart rate above 133bpm (70% of his maximum heart rate) during his 30-minute exercise session, he will earn 100 points.

Physical Activities

AIA Vitality Points are awarded for physical activities which include:

• Steps

• Workouts with heart rate

• Calories burned

• Speed

• Fitness First gym visits

• Organised fitness events

If more than one physical activity was captured for the day, the physical activity with the highest AIA Vitality Points will be awarded. You can earn up to maximum of 15,000 AIA Vitality Points for physical activities each membership year.
Example: John's fitness device records steps and workouts with calorie information. He burns 150 calories (at a rate of no fewer than 300 calories an hour) and takes 12,500 steps. John will earn 100 points that day.

Sleep

To qualify for the 10 points, a minimum of 420 minutes / seven hours of total sleep must be tracked in a 24-hour period.

You can earn up to a maximum 2,000 AIA Vitality points for sleep each membership year.
The 24-hour period runs from midday to midday (over two days starting 12 noon to 12 noon the following day) GMT+8.
If more than one device is used, AIA Vitality will allocate points based on the device that tracked the longest sleep.
Example: For your sleep ending 7am on 1 April, the sleep points will be captured for 1 April and reflected in your Points Statement on 2 April.
