How Do I Link My Device?

After you've successfully downloaded Fitbit app, created a Fitbit account, and paired your Fitbit device with your account, follow these steps to link your Fitbit account with AIA Vitality.

  1. Link your Fitbit account to AIA Vitality.
  2. Enter your email address and password to log in your Fitbit account.
  3. Confirm the fitness data to be shared with AIA Vitality.
  4. Upon successful linking, the device status will change to "Last Synced" on the My Device page.

•You can earn Vitality Points from fitness-related activities up to 15,000 Vitality Points each membership year. If you exercise more than once a day, you will only earn Vitality Points for one physical activity with the highest points each day between;
 (1)Workout (up to 100 points/day) or
 (2) Gym visit (up to 100 points/day) or
 (3) Fitness event e.g. marathon (up to 1,500 points/day)


•Vitality will only sync Fitbit historical data up to 30 days activities. Activity data prior to linking the apps will not be synced.

Earn up to 110 AIA Vitality Points a day when you track your workout and sleep using Fitbit.

You can track your steps, heart rate, speed, calories burned, and sleep with your Fitbit device. AIA Vitality Points are awarded for any 1 of these fitness measures.

HOW TO CALCULATE YOUR REQUIRED HEART RATE
Speed
The table below shows how many points you can earn when you exercise at the required speed with Fitbit.
At least 30 minutes of physical activity in one exercise session a day at a minimum average speed of 4 kilometres an hour.

At least 30 minutes of physical activity in one exercise session a day at a minimum average speed of 7.2 kilometres an hour.

At least 60 minutes or more of physical activity in one exercise session a day at a minimum average speed of 4 kilometres an hour.

The table below shows how many points you can earn when you exercise and burn the required calories with Fitbit.
At least 30 minutes of physical activity and a minimum of 150 calories burned (at a rate of no fewer than 300 calories an hour) in one exercise session a day.

EXAMPLE OF POINTS ALLOCATION

First-time Linking to AIA Vitality

  1. Download the Fitbit app from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Windows Phone Store, or install the ‘Fitbit Connect’ device software from Fitbit.com
  2. Select "Link App/Device" on the AIA Vitality screen.
  3. Select "Fitbit" from the list.
  4. Log in using your Fitbit account username and password or create a new Fitbit account.
  5. Click on "Allow" to authorise the connection to link your Fitbit account to AIA Vitality.
  6. Once your workout and sleep data have been successfully imported, you will see a detailed summary of your data in the "Workout Log".

Your Fitbit device will store your workout data for a limited number of days, so upload your workout data to AIA Vitality regularly. You will not earn AIA Vitality Points for the data you have not uploaded.

Previously Linked to AIA Vitality

Your Fitbit workout and sleep data sync automatically. Go to the "Workout Log" to see a detailed summary of your data.

How To Calculate Your Required Heart Rate
Example of Points Allocation
  • To calculate your maximum heart rate, take 220 and subtract your age. For example, if you are 30 years old, 190 beats per minute (bpm) is your maximum heart rate (220 - 30 = 190).
  • Calculate your required heart rate by multiplying 60% or 70% to your maximum heart rate. If you are 30 years old, your target heart rate at 60% is 114bpm and at 70% is 133bpm.
Example:
  • Mr. Chan is 30 years old. His age-related maximum heart rate is 190bpm (220 - 30).
  • Mr. Chan must keep his average heart rate above 114bpm (60% of his maximum heart rate) during his 30-minute exercise session to earn 50 points.
  • If Mr. Chan keeps his heart rate above 133bpm (70% of his maximum heart rate) during his 30-minute exercise session, he will earn 100 points.

Physical Activities

AIA Vitality Points are awarded for physical activities which include:

• Steps

• Workouts with heart rate

• Calories burned

• Speed

• Fitness First gym visits

• Organised fitness events

If more than one physical activity was captured for the day, the physical activity with the highest AIA Vitality Points will be awarded. You can earn up to maximum of 15,000 AIA Vitality Points for physical activities each membership year.
Example: John's fitness device records steps and workouts with calorie information. He burns 150 calories (at a rate of no fewer than 300 calories an hour) and takes 12,500 steps. John will earn 100 points that day.

Sleep

To qualify for the 10 points, a minimum of 420 minutes / seven hours of total sleep must be tracked in a 24-hour period.

You can earn up to a maximum 2,000 AIA Vitality points for sleep each membership year.
The 24-hour period runs from midday to midday (over two days starting 12 noon to 12 noon the following day) GMT+8.
If more than one device is used, AIA Vitality will allocate points based on the device that tracked the longest sleep.
Example: For your sleep ending 7am on 1 April, the sleep points will be captured for 1 April and reflected in your Points Statement on 2 April.
