Blood Pressure

Blood pressure is the force of your blood pushing against the walls of your arteries. It is usually described as your systolic blood pressure over your diastolic blood pressure, for example 120/80. This is measured in millimeters of mercury (mmHg). Systolic blood pressure refers to the pressure in the arteries when the heart beats while diastolic is the pressure in between. Fasting blood glucose is a blood test used to measure the blood sugar level in your plasma. It is also called a fasting plasma glucose (FPG) test or a fasting blood sugar test. Cholesterol is a waxy, fatty-like substance. Your liver produces cholesterol for your body. Your body also absorbs cholesterol from certain food you eat like meat, shellfish, eggs, and dairy products. The human body needs cholesterol to form cell membranes, some hormones, and Vitamin D.
